The latest issue of Famitsu has revealed the first images and names of the first batches of downloadable content coming to Street Fighter IV.
The first pack -- called the "Muscle Arms Pack" -- will hit Japan on February 12, the same day the game hits shelves for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Famitsu shows content coming regularly, through the end of April, in the following order: "Beauty Pack," "Shoryuken Pack," "Shadaloo Pack," "Classic Pack," and the "All-in-Pack." And yes, if you're wondering, they're all character costume packs.
It won't be free, either. Famitsu is showing that the PS3 versions of the packs will cost ¥400, while the Xbox 360 versions will cost 320 MS Points (¥473). The final pack listed, the "All-in-Pack" -- likely a package of all of the costumes -- will cost ¥1200 and 1,000 MS Points (¥1,480) on the PS3 and Xbox 360 respectively.
Why the price discrepancy between the PS3 and the Xbox 360? We can't be too sure, but it's likely the prices will be evened out before they hit our shores. We'll reach out to Capcom later in the day to clarify. But in the meantime, you can see the list of packs (and their release dates and pricing) after the jump.
Begin bitching about paying for costumes ... now!

DO WANT!
Either Ryu was rocking the Daisy Dukes or I'm pretty sure that's Sakura. ;)
I'll still buy 'em though, because I'm a massive SF nerd.
But I can just pay a few dollars to see Chun Li fight in a little black dress.
These are truly trying times . . .
Whoa, Vader was 800? I thought he was only 400?
I thought they were unlockable outfits for the game, not DLC.
I believe it is supposed to be an homage to Mai, being that it 1. wouldn't be the first time capcom made an SNK reference and 2. other alt outfits are based off of other characters from other games. (Zangief/Haggar Guile/Charlie)
Damn I need to pay attention more, still looks cool, but I just hope CAPCOM don't turn into another Namco.
It's like prince charming occasionally getting drunk and slapping the princess around. He's a jerk..but man, he's still prince charming who slays dragons and stuff. Know what I'm saying?
That's Capcom now to me. Bastards!.. but still awesome enough to get away with some abuse now and then. >_>
FOR GODS SAKE PEOPLE STOP BUYING DLC, IT ONLY ENCOURAGES THEM TO LEAVE LESS ON THE RETAIL DISK AND CHARGE YOU EXTRA FOR THE REST OF IT
Or at least they could stop charging ridiculous amounts of money for something that cost next to nothing to produce.

Yes it should be unlockable, but now that companies can charge you for this stuff you damn well know they're not gonna give it up for free.
Its no use BAAAAAWWWW-ing over it. If you don't feel like its worth money then don't pay for it. But its never going to be free again :/
and no...not buying dlc doesn't stop anything. makes you save YOUR money while everyone else gets the costume/wasted money/capcom wins.
Still...something like this should already be on the disc...which probably is already. STILL I'd buy some of these over any nonsense Namco puts out as DLC.
Uh, it only really works if everybody does it. That was kinda my point. Hell, I'm equal parts cynic and idealist, I know everybody's gonna buy it, and this will keep happening, to greater and greater degrees.
But I won't buy these alternate outfits, just like I won't buy Darth Vader or new character creator options. Sure, it's my loss ultimately, but it's more about the principle of the matter than anything else. I simply refuse to pay for sh*t that should be a part of the game.
You wanna sell me more game, expansion-pack style? Sock it to me, you'll get my cash. You wanna sell me the ability to unlock one bonus stage that's already on the physical disc that I've already purchased? Get f**ked.
What's the deal with the classic pack? Aren't the character's costumes only subtly different to begin with?
