First sighting: Japanese Smash Bros Brawl Demo spotted in the wild photo

Reporting on any Non-Nintendo sanctioned Smash Bros Brawl info has been like reporting on UFO or Bigfoot sightings. For literally years now, "Is this footage real?", and "Can I confirm the source?" are the first things that go through any game bloggers mind when deciding on whether or not to post Brawl related news. Well, it looks like this period of skepticism and uncertainty may finally be over, as honest to god video of honest to god regular human beings playing an honest to god demo copy of Smash Bros Brawl have finally hit the interwebs. The official report from IGN is that on Jan 26th, demo kiosks of Brawl popped up stores in Japan. I can't wait to see pics of the lines that are bound to form just for this demo.

Ike vs King Dedede on the Bridge of Eldin stage. Music is the Ocarina medley.

 
Pokemon Trainer vs Link  on the Smashville stage. Music sounds the GameCube's Animal Crossing "day time" music (a track yet to be released on the Smash Bros Dojo)
 

Ike vs Kirby on the Smashville stage. Music is Go! KK Rider.


King Dedede vs Bowser on the Smashville stage. As the old hags would say "A Titan against a Titan!". Music is the new Animal Crossing tune again(?)

This will probably be the last weekend on Earth before video of the actual Japanese version of Brawl litters the world of the interent with it's power. You you guys excited or what?

I agree. But seeing as these demos have been in Japan for less than a day, I'm betting we'll be getting video of all the stages and all the characters very soon.

Nice! Bridge of Eldin is going to be a new fav. Simple dueling grounds with minimal interruptions. I like!

Ugg...the wait for this game is annoying, but at least my quarter will be over when it's released. A few weeks couched with Brawl will be SO good.

ZOMG Bigfoot is confirmed for Brawl? I wonder if his Final Smash will be like a beast roar shockwave that travels across the stage or the screen will go black for a second or two and when it comes back he will be invisible for a limited time.

Dedede looks really fun to play as. He has a stupid name, but he makes up for it by being a penguin with a hammer(how cool is that?).

I really want to try out Pokemon Trainer too. Screw Snake, Squirtle is by far the most bad ass character in Brawl.

This game is effortlessly charming, it has the look and feel of all the best moments in gaming over the last 20 years.

It's fast and no nonsense like old school gaming and yet slick, detailed, well polished with a shed load of options and features which is entirely 21st century.

And for such an epic game, it still retains a sense of humour and doesn't take itself too seriously. Love it.

I've had a similar feeling towards all the final smashes really... none of them were turning the tide of the battle as greatly as claimed. It hasn't been bothering me much though, because it would have been annoying as just some cheap move.

Snake is for lightweights, he's like the Venom of Marvel Vs Capcom. People who think Venom is cool select him then proceed to get spanked by those who know that Spiderman or Jin are proper characters.

I look forward to beating Snake players with the gayest character in Brawl... possibly Jigglypuff or Kirby. Yes. I will destroy Snake with a pink air ball that sqeaks. Better yet, I will destroy Snake with Snake Kirby.

Well if this demo is real they better give it to europe fast if they expect us to wait 5 more months. A couple of days of everyone talking about it post US release and I'll be forced to ebay my Wii and import a US one.

Damn, Dedede's final smash is shit. All you have to do is jump and you can dodge it.

@zardoz: Snake looks fun to play as, and Venom was one of the best characters in Marvel VS. Capcom.

Dede seems like a over powered character. I heard his side special move at full charge can KO a 17% character. These videos are awesome.

jeeze, Dedede spams the waddles, and one of his moves works a lot like shine kills. He's slow, but his moves look really fast.
