First screens of Pokemon Dungeon photo

The good news: we found over 20 screenshots of the new Pokemon Dungeon DS game. The bad news: there aren't any dungeons pictured with realistic Pikachus chained to the wall, famished and beaten. Why toy with our emotions?!!

Instead, all images are in Japanese and primarily feature a very perky penguin talking to buck-toothed animals with big shiny heads. (I'm such a fan!) The feature was spotted on a French gaming site, so here is my best attempt understanding their proverbial Eau De Toilette:

The next Pokémon on DS has been announced, and here are the first images. Like previous games, this new version will be released in two episodes, but both on DS this time: Pokémon Fushigi No Dungeon Toki No Tankenkai in blue, and Pokémon Fushigi No Dungeon Yami No Tankenkai in red, because little whiny middle class kids will torment their mothers to buy them both.

Ok, I wish it actually said that. Somebody needs to stop the madness. More Pokefun and further evidence that as a child I was deprived many a Happy Meal after the break.

The thick of the plot:

The player will find himself transformed into Pokémon, after a series of 16 questions to determine which type of small monster really hides behind its personality. But obviously, one will find this time Pokémon the Diamond and Pearl among the selection. The player will be a companion, who just like dreams him of treasures and legends, intrigued by the reason for a mysterious relic in his possession. As usual, the players will have thus to be combined in other Pokémon to explore keeps generated by chance, while answering this time the multiple requests of the various guilds where to obtain new information and to meet new members.
Players will be able to always count on Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to see players answering their distress calls, and consequently to gain occasion of juicy no-claims bonus in their bearing help. The simultaneous release of these two versions in Japan is scheduled for Autumn. No word yet on plans for yet another Pokemon world domination.

Sadly, I have only 120. They never stay in the damn balls. Even when I kick their ass to 1 pixel of life. Bastards.

Like... what is the goal in these kinds of pokemon games? I stopped at gold, then went straight to diamond, the traditional kind. What have I been missing?

@ ohgr89: These are turn-based dungeon crawler strategy games, where you actually play as the pokemon instead of a trainer. You basically go into caves and rescue other pokemon who were stupid enough to go wandering around in caves. If you've ever heard of the Chocobo's Dungeon 2 game for PSX, the same thing but with Pokemon. I'd say pass unless you're REALLY into those types of games.

Red/ blue dungeon = 3/10 really fucking bad. I'm not even going to bother with this because of how completely terrible the last one was.

The Red/Blue dungeon games where total shit, this will be probably be no different.

I am a pokewhore but I have my limits, I might get them if they drop the you die, you lose all your items and money bullshit.

Oh and fix the fucking glitches, I lost many a mission because the game hadn't caught with what I was doing.

Hmmm, I'm having a sense of Deja vu!!

Seriously though, I might actually buy this because I recently bought pokemon pearl, mainly to reminisce about the past, and I forgot how fucking addicting these games were. They're like virtual crack!
