Sick of looking at low quality magazine scans of Pokémon Black/White? How about sampling these low quality official screens of Pokémon Black/White instead? The game's Web site recently updated with a smattering of images for the big series revamp, and it's looking pretty snazzy.
The images show off a few of the details we covered yesterday, including the 3D towns and the combined Pokémart/Center. There's also an image of the new-look "intense" battle screen, if you want a gander at the allegedly more dynamic combat.
Promising stuff, and I really have no doubt that it'll be a fine title, since Game Freak rarely lets us down. Again, I can only hope that the EV/IV hidden stat bullsh*t isn't so obscure this time around, but I'm not betting the farm on it. In any case, I'm looking forward to Black and White. How excited are you?

It's so pointless
I may give this one a go though if it looks like fun.
So much for trying something new eh game freak?
Well if it aint broke dont fix it I suppose, but way to squander potential.
Well... every Pokemon game that has been released so far (DS games included) have sold more copies than any PS3 or PSP game ever released.
Fact.
But maybe that screenshot is too little to speculate about.

Why is that creepy? I've been playing this shit for years. Pokemon is the shit.
The ability to ride your Ponita/Rapidash.
They should. Why did they have to start low-quality???? I have no doubts about this either I have been following it on Serebii daily since Thursday of last week.
Because not all of us are incredibly judgemental and we play games for fun.
Explain to me why a fun, well made game shouldn't be played or appreciated just because it's colourful and child friendly?
@Baron Lez
Gamefreak has done plenty of experiments with the Pokemon formula. Thats what all the spinoffs are for.
The towns on all the other pokemons where connected for the most part. You never got to see horizons or anything. Which made it feel like you could keep walking from town to town for days.
This isolated city view makes the world look very small and it doesn't even look polished.
Lets hope it's good.
@ Jim - ever consider Shoddy Battle? It's an online simulator that lets you make any team in the game, and try it out against other people. It's a lot less painful than making the team in-game, and it tells you the EVs/IVs you're running.
It's necesary to use to be great, because it's the only way to get practice with what your team will eventually be without making the team from scratch each time. Also, the opponents are the best you'll find among any pokemon players because not only do they have their final teams from the start, but have practiced against other people who have their final teams. It's pretty much the only way to be a "Pokemon Master", as without it, you will lose to other shoddy players who have ten times the practice against the best possible teams.
From that lonely screenshot I'd guess the battle screen consists of a 3D arena and dynamic camera, but with standard Pokémon sprites thrown in there. Not as awesome as it could be perhaps, but I'll hold judgment until I see more than just a single screen.
Damn Nintendo for my neglige- CRAPPY HARDWARE!
Oh hi, Im new here!
Well considering it doesn't look impressive being merely average even for a DS game, that is indeed a strike. The second being we haven't seen the animations in action and if this is representative of the quality in the game then it's just a gimmick. The third being is that the vertical aspect is not that big of a deal. All I'm seeing is some skyscrapers and very basic pokemon animations being done, all of which should have been done years ago.
Overall it looks like more of the same that we've been playing for the past 4-5 years.
probably all of them
Perhaps the same could be said of all fandoms.
>_>
I don't have a DS (hell, I don't even have a GBA) , but if someone lets me try it out, I'd be interested.
Let's hope the Pokemon match up to it.
I fail to see how a grown man playing Pokemon is any different from a grown man playing Super Mario Galaxy, LittleBIGPlanet, or any other E-rated game. It's all in good fun. Hell, if you tell most people you enjoy playing any videogame, you get still get looks like "What are you, 10?". I showed my own mother Mirror's Edge once and the same thing happen. She looked at me like I was playing with a child's toy. I love her, but people can be such ignorant assholes.
