Honestly, if this debut trailer for the Medal of Honor reboot (hence the back-to-the-basics name) is anything to go by, Cowboy and his legendary beard is going to be the highlight of the game for me.
Our first glimpse of it from the Spike VGAs sure does look ridiculously Modern Warfare-ish. Obviously that's the whole intent and about the only way this series can thrive today, if you ask me. But the way it's presen--hold on! Was that an AC-130 I just saw!?
We may be walking on some familiar ground with Medal of Honor, for sure. Controls, first-person interaction, all that good stuff? Modern Warfare 2 nails it. If this game is to compete with Infinity Ward's baby, it's going to need one hell of a good story, that's for sure.

When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied: "bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

I've never enjoyed playing any Medal of Honor game more than the Infinity Ward produced Call of Duty's. Copying your rivals hasn't ever worked in the video game industry, so I don't see why it would start working here. Medal of Honor's only chance at succeeding is to be completely original. Isn't that what a "reboot" is supposed to do anyway?
Unsurprisingly, it looks just like Modern Warfare...On that note, I hope this is an actual better game than Modern Warfare. Personally, I can't stand either of the Modern Warfare games. They completely fail to innovate...I don't think it would be a stretch to say that the Quake II engine could handle entirely accurate demakes of the games.
There are a ton of modern conflict games that don't make me instantly think of Modern Warfare, or rather Modern Warfare did not make me instantly think if.
have to agree with you. the very way the trailer is shot is like cod4. even the guy doing a melee and then stabbing a dude. this is just sad. medal of honor came out before cod, yet they cant be more inventive than this? either keep up or abandon the title and do something new. weve seen this before.
Airborne was horrible. Hope they bring this game up to speed with real next gen qualities. IMO medal of honor frontline is the greatest ww2.game ever. I hope EA gets it together and tries something new.
@Arianol: You might want to look at World of Warcraft a bit closer and then I think you'll change your mind about 'copying' not working.
As far as the video, yeah, not sure why they thought 'going modern' would somehow do the same for them that it did for Infinity Ward. C'mon guys, do something vastly different but still enjoyable.
This one looks better. Why? The dude has a beard and isn't white. I want more of that. But ya seeing it I audiably said "modern warfare?" then laughed at how it's gonna be just as wannabe realistic as modern warfare when I saw him kick that dude away. I mean it's funny how both games want to be realistic but they just end up being a movie rip off instead of original. I mean all esponge missions end with 2 agents taking down hudreds of troops then launch off to a helicopter after a snowmobile chase? Wow sign me up. Wow that was more then I expected.
I have no loyalty to games. I can play Modern Warfare AND Medal Of Honor. Good game is a good game.
Only going by the trailer for graphics and vibe....I am extremely interested. If the trailer is any indication, they won't hold back on the brutality....which they really can't compete with MW2 if they did. But it looks good what's there (animations and all).
EA is doing one thing very smart. They are releasing opposite years of Infinity Ward. The rotating Call Of Duty means this year will be the Treyarch game, which is battles in the past, given them a year to release in where they're the only "modern" war game. Smart.
Initial reaction: Lots more vehicles, textures seem less detailed, rather gripping narrative.
It seems promising.
Really unfortunate that war games HAVE to follow suit of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. I mean, if they go with WWII still, they're considered to be old - stagnant. If they go with modern times, they're copying MW. If they go with futurey, well all I can say is - Battlefield 2142.
I gotta agree with that. MW2 was an amazing game, with amazing levels, but plot wise? not so much.
The final ''twist'' was so pointless, it was done just for the sake of it, and the motivation for going to war against a nuclear armed nation , just to be a war hero and get recruitment numbers up, was utterly rediculous. He risked nuclear war for that?
and what happened to this main bad guy we chased through the story? I mean he just gets away. he had no ties to zakahev, and apart from making money, he had no real motivation.
Judging by the camouflage outfits used, and a soldier still using iron sights... it actually looks like it's going to cover the early years of the Afghanistan campaign, not "where the war is now."
Well EA. Your huge. PS3 knows that too and will work closely with you Im betting.
(hence Battlefield Bad Company 2 Beta only on fucking PS3 bitches)
But only some EA games are really worth getting.
This NEW Metal of Honor- Reboot can make MW2 suck huge EA cock. Period. And a Red drippy one. Fuck all the haters lol

Wow...it's weird to say that about an EA title. Tastes kinda funny.
That's interesting of you to say that, considering Call of Duty was originally a Medal of Honor ripoff..
Anyway, I am in complete agreement with N0R3M0RS3.

This is a carbon copy.

amazing game, not so good plot.
Not so hot in my book.
