Resident Evil: Degeneration is an all CG film set for a straight-to-DVD release in Japan sometime in 2008. Details of the film's contents remain unknown beyond the scant bits of information derivable from these screens. For starters, the film is apparently set seven years after the destruction of Raccoon City in 1998. And it appears to feature two of the series' most popular characters, Claire Redfield and Leon S Kennedy.
But wait -- during 2004, the time Resident Evil 4 took place, wasn't Leon a special agent for the President? If so, why is it that in this movie he's dressed in his old Raccoon Police Department jumpsuit? Did Leon have another tryst with zombie genocide in or around Raccoon City one year after being hired, trained, and sent overseas to wage bloody destruction upon scores of brainwashed Spaniards?
Potential continuity errors aside, I'm hoping this film is a good one. I know it can't be worse than Resident Evil's previously released forgettable foray into CG movie land.

Actually, in fact, after looking at all the shots...all we see him in is his bomber jacket.
That is unless you're assuming that the shot with some random cop with "POLICE" on his back, and wearing a helmet, is Leon.

This is what video game movies should be - CG vids made in the same style as the cut-scenes in the _video_games_. These things fail when they get too close to the Hollywood formula (look at Spirits Within), because it's a totally different medium. Hopefully this is as good Advent Children...
So the good news is, it looks like RE's continuity is again made safe. The bad news is, I suck.

Yes, while the RE storyline is plagued with retcons, it is somewhat decently unified in Umbrella Chronicles. While the gap between Code Veronica and Umbrella´s End chapter in RE:UC is considerable (4 years), said chapter explains the way Wesker is portrayed in RE4.
Anyway... can´t wait for this movie!!
