Here's the first trailer for the newish Twisted Metal game for the PS2 called Twisted Metal: Head-On: Extra Twisted Edition. The trailer reveals that new levels from the unreleased Twisted Metal: Black 2 will be in the game, there will be updated graphics, tons of bonus features (like some never before seen endings from the very first Twisted Metal) and even a mode where you can actually control Sweet Tooth outside of his car.
David Jaffe made a post on the official PlayStation Blog talking about how he felt working on the Twisted Metal franchise again and he also quickly mentioned the three new games his new company, Eat Sleep Play, are working on for the PlayStation 3. It's great knowing David is working on this. Frankly, the only Twisted Metal games that were good were the ones David's hands graced. I will never forgive 989 Studios for raping this series.
[Editor's note: The entire time I was writing this post, I was playing the Twisted Metal 2 theme song in my head.]
Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

Yeah, graphically it not so fantastic looking, but you guys need to remember that this is a port of a PSP game. It's not going to look quite as good. Hopefully it's only like $19.99 or something.
I loved Black, but if these graphics stay as sucktacular as they appear and aren't up to Black's, then I think it'll be dumb. Although, if it comes out for something like 20 bucks, I could see myself making this my last PS2 game ever (right now it's God of War II).
I'd much rather see the Sweet Tooth game be a Manhunt clone! Lord know we don't have nearly enough of those. It is awesome to see the PS2 still getting high profile love though.May be another reason to reconnect the ol' PS2 to the network!
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I mean, yeah this one is coming but it doesn't really count as a NEW one. :)
The formula still works very well, but haven't they improved the controls or the physics after all these years?
Mmmm, Twisted Metal.
