Big news for fans of the original NES Excitebike -- an all new, updated version of the game will be hitting WiiWare on November 9.

Called Excitebike World Rally, the game will feature the same core gameplay as the original, utilizing either the Wii Remote's motion controls or the buttons for a more classic feel. Holy crud did I waste a lot of my youth building tracks on this original....

I just gotta ask how in the hell do you use "motion control" on a 3D isometric game..at all?

the original needed only an engrish catchphrase à la Pro Wrestling to be an absolute classic.

Looks like it has taken a page from ExciteTruck's book and included triggers to deform the terrain. Niiiiicceee.

If tracks stay saved after the power turns off, they might have a hit on their hands.

what was that other excitebike type game coming out on PSN i think? that one looked more like motocross maniacs for Gameboy.

and did i notice popping up ramps, like a multiplayer weapon of sorts?

@Br0th3rGr1mm i'm guessing that motion control will tilt the bike as it's in the air.

Also Nov 9th? Why does Nintendo keep these things secrete right up until there release?!

I'm such an easy mark: yes please! Functional save options FTW!

Awesomesauce. Looks like they've kept the feeling and "physics" from the original. Must try it. I work at a company we're we've made a similar game for PC. You can try it here: http://www.madskillsmotocross.com/

What? Since when has Wiiware started putting out good games? I like the direction this is headed. With NSMB, Castlevania, and this, my Wii isn't getting any rest soon.
