You've been waiting for it just like I have, and now the moment has arrived. The guys from some website were lucky enough to score a visit to Capcom headquarters in Shinjuku, Tokyo to play Street Fighter IV, and brought plenty of gameplay footage back with them.
Between all the yapping, (which you should nevertheless pay attention to, as it details how the game is played) the above video shows off some clips of a very beefy Ken, fighting some Nicaraguan guy. I won't go into what I think of the art style, but I am very happy to see that the game looks fast. Fast is good.
I don't want to add to the yapping, so I'll shut up now and let you watch it. Was it everything you hoped it would be? Was it everything you hoped it wouldn't be? What do you think?
[Editor's note: Yes, it's taking forever to load. That's because there are about a zillion people trying to watch it right now. Quit crying.]
Also, I think it would be better to just go directly to the 1Up podcast. I think it's a better quality video and there may be less traffic on it for now.
I dunno, I feel like HD Remix is what we are looking for in a very SF2 feel. This is just going to be another version of a game we played so many times. I bought SF2 on XBLA and played it for about a month. I can totally see that happening here, looks like a renter.
They make a video they know 400 billion people are going to watch and make it 20 minutes long with the footage people want to see at the end? Are they daft?
Actually, it's not even trying to load for me. It just... sits there. Mocks.
Seriously, though, can we please ban using GameVideos? For the past month or two, EVERY SINGLE VIDEO I watch from them takes forever to load. It's weird. It never used to be that way, and most other video sites are fine. Urgh.
I need to start waking up earlier if this is how it's gonna be. I ought to be able to get my news as it happens, but no.... I'm waking up at 3:30 pm waiting to see what I would assume half of the internet has already seen already and it hasn't even been up that long. Ah well. This better be sweet, and I know it already is, so I'm just gonna.... grab a coke. or make an omlette. or make a coke omlette. mmmmm coke omlette.
Eh it's 20 minutes of the fellows talking with a maximum of about 3 seconds of gameplay footage put here and there. If you're lucky, back to back... I was more expecting... Constant gameplay footage of at least one round.
Fucks sake. After watching the video buffer ever so slowely only to listen to a bunch of editors yap on for 6 hours I just gave up. Nice video ya fucking jerkwads.
wtf those 1up guys don't know what they're talking about. Soul Calibur a more technical game? Those games are broken as hell and no one plays them seriously on a competitive level. Do yourselves a favor and just watch the gameplay footage because listening to the 1up guys' analysis will only make you stupid.

@shadowXOR yes 1up was extremely ignorant in that vid. I'd like them to take their laid back approach to China Town Fair, Sunnyvale Golfland or Family Fun Arcade and play against any random scrub there in SF. They'll be lucky if they win one round all day.But on the flip side no one is qualified to make any sort of analysis right now. The vid is footage from a game that was said to be 3% done. And SF is such an old franchise and the anticipation for SF4 has been so long that no one can objectively say anything about the game.
In case people didn't see it in my first reply here's the link to the gameplay footage only:
I like that they're making the special moves more forgiving and stuff like that. What fighting games are there out there that are easy to learn/difficult to master? There's smash bros, as long as you turn off all the crazy power-ups and pick a symetrical level to make things balanced. Chess is infintiley simple, yet also infinitely complex. No secret rook air juggling combos needed. Heck, if it were up to me, they would only have ONE meter. The life meter.
!!AND THOSE BLACK DUST EXPLOSION VIDEO CUTS!! OMIGAWDZ were those annoying. I presume Capcom gave them the footage like that, and that 1up wouldn't do that on purpose. I wanted to punch the video editor in the stomach every 1.1 seconds.

I feel weird that i have now said that twice in my lifetime...
it worked for me.
i could understand that asian guy without the subtitles.
O probably because the whole internet is viewing this video
and I love the thought of a 1UPer reading these responses and HHMPHing at us.
....Fat cunt, internet.

Marvel vs. Capcom was better than your mom.

I finally saw the whole thing and still feel like Sheng Long is rolling around in his grave right now.
That Nicaraguan guy must've invested in a decent athletic supporter.

I agree, 1UP fucking sucks and they never know what they're talking about.
