First gameplay footage of Sacred 3 released

Launch date set, pre-orders open

Deep Silver has announced a release date for Sacred 3, scheduled to arrive on August 26 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. They also brought the gift of a first gameplay trailer.

I'm a fan of combining the cooperative goal of completing a game with a secondary competition between players for the most glory. That additional layer of friendly aggression is particularly enjoyable in local games where you can punch the person who scored better than you. Few things more fun than that.

Thanks for not calling it Sacr3d. This new Sacred game features online (four players) and offline (two players) co-op, which will probably be its main draw when it releases on August 5 for PS3, 360, PC. Plus, your homies' voices can drown out those badly acted, hokey combat barks from the trailer.
