Our first look at Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines for the PSP has finally arrived. Bloodlines picks up right after the events from the first Assassin's Creed. You will be playing as Altair again as he hunts down the remaining Templars who fled from the Holy Land to the island of Cyprus after the death of Robert De Sable.
Bloodlines will contain eight new missions and the same feeling of exploration will be in the game as well, including being able to climb like a monkey on every surface. Bloodlines will also bridge the gap between Assassin's Creed and Assassin's Creed 2. It will explain how Ezio, the hero of 2, is born and where the Codex comes from.
There's also some connectivity features for the PS3 version of AC 2 and Bloodlines. When you unlock health and hidden blade upgrades in the AC 2, those upgrades will appear in Bloodlines and vice-versa too. You'll be able to gain access to any Templar Coins and special weapons you've collected on the PSP version over on the PS3 version as well.
Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines will be out during the holiday season this year. In the mean time, check out the world premier trailer after the break.
Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

Assassin's Creed 2 (PS3) + Assassin's Creed: Blood Lines (PSP) = Total Experience.
Expect to see the PS3 version to have an edge over the 360 version now.
I didn't actually realise that was a PSP screenshot at first. Incredible use of the PSP hardware. The only concern I have is how on earth they plan to make it not cripple your hands after 10 minutes of playing. And if it doesn't have some kind of quicksave system, then they're really not helping anyone, lease of all themselves.
If I had a PSP I would definitely buy this... I really liked AC for some reason and crave something more like this.... AC on handheld (Not the crap DS version) could be really fun... so far looks great.
I'm curious how they're going to handle the camera. That's usually the biggest pitfall in 3D PSP games. Using the D-Pad as the camera control is a retarded solution, if one could call it a solution. I hope they just use a chase cam.
I was actually thinking the same thing. If this is really going to have that much connectivity with the PS3 version of AC2, you'd be surprised at how many more copies will probably sell for that console over the 360. Just depends on whether this game is good. Judging by the trailer, it will be.
I wish somehow they included this feature in the 360 version too, since I have a 360 and PS3. It's bloody annoying this exclusive business I say, I say!

And expect no one to really care. I don't mean to sound like a fanboy, but I don't think the PSP version is going to win that many people over to Sony's side by itself.
I do not have a PSP, but I've been considering one for a while now. This is definitely a PSP game in which I'd be interested, so does make me consider the PS3 version of AC2 over the 360.
I'd hate to own the series split between two consoles, but the first AC had horrible framerate issues on the PS3... and I can't really even consider the sequel on PS3 until it's confirmed that they run identically on both consoles. As it stands now, I'll get the 360 collector's edition.
I have a feeling I am going to enjoy this more than the first one- I loved the world and the controls but the game was fucking boring- that said I have higher hopes for the psp version since they will have to collapse some of the free roaming and make the game more interesting to work on the psp.
also WTF is the deal with showing the whole trailer in a psp? - I get it, it is on the psp so go ahead and zoom on the screen after the first few seconds instead of wasting real estate on the trailer screen

Wish I had a PS3 for the connectivity features but oh well. I'll definitely be picking this up.
