First DLC for NeverDead gets detailed photo

In what seems to be a trend among publishers these days, it's only been a week since NeverDead has been out and Konami has already announced plans to release the first DLC for the game on February 21st. A new character named Nikki Summerfield will be available to play as in NeverDead's online cooperative challenges and two new costumes for Bryce Boltzmann will be added.

The Asylum level will be expanded with three new challenges. First of which is "Egg Hunt," where you'll be searching the environment for hidden collectables that need to be taken back to designated score zones. "Fragile Alliance" will be a mode where players race through a series of checkpoints. Last up is Onslaught mode, which has the player unlocking the Asylum section-by-section by defeating all the enemies in each area. Konami didn't send word of a price point, but for what you're getting I'm sure they won't be asking too much.

Dear Greedy Publishers:

Stop chopping up your games and selling the intro at premium prices. We're not going to pay $120 for what should be $50 for the full experience. You're only making piracy that much better.

@Sicminded I'm getting sick of that kind of shit too. Buy used and go on their official forums to tell them why you won't be buying new or at launch.

Make your voice (and your money) heard.

I was gonna say "shoulda been on the disc!", but since nobody (besides ChillyBilly) even bought the disc, I guess there's no point!

I'll have to agree with both, Sicminded, and Football Religion, alike. However, I regret to say that the unfortunate truth is that the "majority" is all too willing to pay for said product no matter how many hoops they have to jump through, or the amount of content they are getting. So, long as they get said product in the end (even if it means sacrificing their rights, and ownership in the process.)

I'd say more, but honestly this is not the time nor the place for said conversation. I agree though nonetheless that it is ridiculous, and it sad enough in which the gaming industry as a whole is in - both in terms of it's general consumer, and said product(s).

@Rorek Yep, I know lots of people who don't care and buy map packs even though they know they're getting ripped off. That's why we've got to make as much noise as possible.

I dont have a problem with piecing out DLC. I have a problem with the prices that they charge for most DLC, because most of its not just shitty but overpriced.

I dont even know why Im saying that here as I have no interest in whatever game(hadnt heard of it til now) this is!

Welp, I like the game. It had a unique idea and a pretty good sword mechanic. I had fun right the way through.

@fetusmilk

Has been reviewed and with every review I have read it hovers right around the two star mark ~.~ the fact that it has DLC is sorta insulting :P

I don't need a bunch of entitled gamers "making noise" for me, I prefer to make my own mind up about what I buy.

This still makes me sad... I had wanted to buy NeverDead ever since it was announced... I had it pre-ordered for Day One! Then they announced DLC before the game came out... now I'll wait for the game to hit $20 before even thinking of buying it. Konami let me down. So sad. We could have been made for each other.

Judging from the review, it sounds like they should have been working on the game instead of DLC.

@Discount Tent Ed

This is one of the saddest posts I've read. You must not remember when we got the full game experience for our $50, not half of one for $60.
