Firemint's Flight Control coming to PS3 with Move support photo

[Update: Firemint was able to confirm with us that Flight Control HD will launch in both Europe and Asia on September 15. Additionally, the developer has told us the game will support both Move and the DualShock 3 controller, so everyone can get their Flight Control on.

We've updated the gallery and header with a widescreen "mock up" image provided to us by Firemint.]

If you've ever played it, you know what I'm talking about -- Firemint's Flight Control for iPod/iPhone is awesome. The premise is simple, with players guiding aimless aircraft to their landing pad and runway destinations, careful not to cross paths or… boom!

Flight Control HD was the high definition upgrade for iPad, and it was equally awesome. Now, according to a press release by Sony Computer Entertainment Korea, the game is confirmed to be coming to PlayStation 3 with support for Move. The release lists the game with a September 15 date on PlayStation Network to coincide with Move's retail arrival. We'll check in with Firemint to see if it has anything to officially announce.

Also mentioned in the press release is Big Ant Studio's Soaked! and a stunt racing title from Nemesys Team Studio called Ignite. Both games are said to support Move as well.

i've poured soooo many minutes into this on my iPhone -- i'm not sure how this could be played with a controller, the move support has to be exclusive to that control type.

I have no idea why but this looks like so much fun to me.

If it's not too cheap I'll get it on the iPhone. But something tells me playing on a TV would be even cooler.

Hope this stuff is $5 or less. If Sony can get enough of these kinds of games out for move at that price point a few of them are bound to be worth playing and it'd be a quick way to pad out the Move library, which is looking a little too thin to take the plunge at launch.

Does some free flash game use this concept ? I would like to try a game like that NOW xD.

But very cool for Move compatible, i will get Move first day ( Resident evil 5, Hustle King, R.U.S.E, time crisis, heavy rain but i doubt i will replay it just for the move xD. Maybe if i got a girl friend xD ). So maybe i will want that game too !

Love how R.U.S.E and this game are the first ( Mouse like ) that they got ! Maybe the PS Move can really feel like a laser pointer ( point and click ). The wii does that a bit. But not very tight.

I have one of these on my Android that uses Googlemaps Images of real Airports, it's pretty nifty.

i don't really play it much though, because I've also got a Gameboy Advance emulator with Pokemon Emerald on it....

And a Genesis emulator with Desert and Jungle Strike.

So uh, yeah these flight control games are cool..... if all you have is an I-thing.

So,.. $299 for a PS3 + $150 for Move to play a $4 iPhone game that won't control as well as it does on an iPhone?

This mindset reminds me of iPad + iPhone scrabble. $500 + $200(x4) to play a $10 board game with 3 friends.
