The Destructophone has been inundated with calls today from people keen to tell us that Duke Nukem Forever is (sigh) rumored to be released in 2008. That's right, a 3D Realms "insider" (sigh, again) is claiming that the vaporware classic is finally going to see the light of day. In other news, I saw the Easter Bunny this morning. He looked at me.
Apparently the game is being given an "over the edge" look and is now "pepped up with attitude." Elements from the series are being said to return, with the Shrink Ray and Nuke Button rumored to be coming back. Also, this Easter Bunny, he was making out with Santa Clause on a giant flying Phantom console.
Hey, cynicism aside, maybe it IS coming out. Maybe 3D Realms realized that Sadness is threatening to steal the vaporware crown so figured it might be time to actually do a little work instead of sitting down and playing other people's actual, existing videogames all day.
Oh, and Tupac is alive.

3D Realms? Why do you constantly ply us with screenshots of this game with vastly different looks each time? What's wrong with each one where you can't fucking get one done?
Surfergirl said that it would come out in 2008 as well btw, I guess it will be a good test to see how often she is right.

ok, maybe not. But, if DNF was/is to come out I hope it's release is next year and I hope it's better than Prey.
So DNF = "did not finish". Sounds bang on! This game will never get released. If and when it does, its not going to live up to the hype at all. Is there really that much hype after 10 years?
On a side note, Lincoln was not assassinated, he committed suicide and Kurt Cobain is actually Kenny Chesney, just brainwashed.
One thing that comes to mind is how many times they would of needed to rewrite the script due to cultural references becoming outdated.

And for those of you who DO remember things like Descent, and lan parties that involved a small local bar and a guy you knew from the call center, make sure you don't fall for the new-kid mentality, this is an old friend, like original Nine Inch Nails, and Nirvana, just give into it.... you might be sorry, but at least you don't have to relive your youth by taking a crappy job supporting Sony DSS in the center of BFE NY (for those of you who COULDN'T get the dish aimed correctly, shame on you)

DNF has been in development longer than the Beatles's career.
There was a list somewhere online that had many famous things that didn't last as long as the development on this so far.
