Finally! Club Nintendo coming to North America photo

How many times have you seen incredible Nintendo swag and goodies on the internet, only to find that they're Japanese Club Nintendo-only items. The question always comes up: Why don't we have a Club Nintendo? Well, we do now!

Details were scarce at the Nintendo Media Summit this morning, but we do know that we're finally getting the chance to join the club, Nintendo's form of a customer loyalty award system. Other than the statement that Club Nintendo North America debuts "this holiday season," Big N gives us nothing else go to on.

For now, check out the Do-Wantiness of the Japanese Club Nintendo items and daydream about how you'll spend your points. Hopefully we'll get the same type of items, including exclusive games.

and to think its only been 23 years Americans have been loyal to Nintendo. Now finally they recognize us. Somehow I think NoA will still fuck this up.

I fear there is a great possibility of these being totally lame. I just can't see the same caliber of prizes being offered over here as in Japan... but we can dream.

Holy hell! This may be one of the HAPPIEST days in my life! ^_^ After registering OVER 90 things on My Nintendo, I might finally get something else besides a Zelda Stylus and have to stop importing these . . .

Great, right after I buy an R4 they decide to start this up.

I really hope they consider games already registered when they give out rewards. I have every Nintendo system and 20 or 30 games (50-60 if you count VC games) registered to my damn account and all I have to show for it is Zelda: Master's Quest and the Zelda: Collector's Edition.

Oh, and all those games I registered, but who cares about those?

We actually had something like this in Europe called the Nintendo Stars Catalogue. It was utter crap because all you could get with your stars was wallpapers which could easily be made in Photoshop or something else equally crap, even mediocre games were sold out through it. I think the japanese version had lots of better stuff.

Well I hope Club Nintendo is actually decent.

This is great news, but annoyingly, I've barely bought Nintendo games lately, just because there are so many quality games on 360 lately. I need to catch up on all the DS games I've passed over and even a few Wii games.

I hope that all the time I've taken to register all of my systems and games thus far go toward something. I've got such a huge Nintendo collection it's not even funny.

See, this is how you combat piracy correctly. Give people reasons to buy your product beyond just the game/music/video. It's the special features that pull people in.
