Release dates for this year's trio of Silent Hill games have been all over the place, but Konami sent along a note that clears everything up and seals the dates in stone ... unless they change again. If you're confused over which games are arriving on what days, worry not and check out these dates.
- Silent Hill Downpour: March 13
- Silent Hill HD Collection: March 20
- Silent Hill: Book of Memories: March 27
Konami is calling this the "month of madness," but I don't think it quite understands the irony of such a catchy phrase. After all, releasing three games in a series within the span of an already-packed month certainly is madness, and not in the creepy, guilt-ridden, that-monster-represents-my-sexual-repression sense. It's just common garden insanity.
I sometimes think Konami doesn't realize there are other videogame publishers in the world and that this is an actual industry, not just one company's personal hobby.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I might pick up all three eventually if they are all well received. But not now because you know OTHER GAMES KONAMI.
Not so much the others. The HD collection is a maybe for eventual pick-up.
You should elaborate on that point because I'm not really sure what you mean.
As for the glut of Silent Hill games, I am sensing the video game equivalent of an ice cream headache.
Also i'm going to buy some icecream and bacon on my way home from work.
Silent Hill HD is definitely on my pre-order list (Christmas gift). I just pray it's not delayed AGAIN now. Please, Konami!
I don't mean the quality of the games have been poor but everything surrounding the games have been just dumb (overpriced DLC, DRM, poor business decisions, poor customer services, online pass, retail exclusive dlc) or maybe it might be Jim depressing me with his often negative (if unfortunately accurate) posts.
It's just I feel like I should be more excited for games than I am and I am sure its all the publisher bullshit that has me so bored of it all.
Hey, I've got an idea! Let's release three (four if you count SH1 AND 2) games from the same series in a two week span!
Everyone will buy all of them, right?! No one will only buy one and wait for the others to drop in price because they can only play one game at a time, right?!!!
Who decides this stuff?
please don't suck
please don't suck
please don't suck
please don't suck
etc, etc, etc
Oh well. Still buying all of these on day one to support the franchise.
[Adopts a wait-and-see stance.]
Konami treating SH as a cash cow is completely infuriating however, regardless of the quality of these games.
Really hope Downpour is good. At least with the HD collection I know I'm getting pure awesomeness. That I've already played 5 times through.
A direct sequel to (or HQ remastering of) "Yu-Gi-Oh: Forbidden Memories" on the PS VITA. Just putting that out there!
I think its more a matter of Konami not realizing there's an entire year to sprinkle your games in, or that a year isn't a 30-31 days long. I mean what year is it to them, 24,144?
The other games being released will weigh against them for sure, but Konami's biggest competition here is themselves.
