Final launch dates for Silent Hill HD, Downpour, Memories photo

Release dates for this year's trio of Silent Hill games have been all over the place, but Konami sent along a note that clears everything up and seals the dates in stone ... unless they change again. If you're confused over which games are arriving on what days, worry not and check out these dates.

  • Silent Hill Downpour: March 13
  • Silent Hill HD Collection: March 20
  • Silent Hill: Book of Memories: March 27

Konami is calling this the "month of madness," but I don't think it quite understands the irony of such a catchy phrase. After all, releasing three games in a series within the span of an already-packed month certainly is madness, and not in the creepy, guilt-ridden, that-monster-represents-my-sexual-repression sense. It's just common garden insanity.

I sometimes think Konami doesn't realize there are other videogame publishers in the world and that this is an actual industry, not just one company's personal hobby.

Looking forward to nabbing all three. Maybe not on launch day, but certainly before summer.

No PC version for all 3 fucking games. I mean, why would they want my money anyway?

anybody else feel like the last 5 years of video game history has been a perpetual facepalm moment?

I might pick up all three eventually if they are all well received. But not now because you know OTHER GAMES KONAMI.

Hyped for Downpour.

Not so much the others. The HD collection is a maybe for eventual pick-up.

You should elaborate on that point because I'm not really sure what you mean.

As for the glut of Silent Hill games, I am sensing the video game equivalent of an ice cream headache.

Also i'm going to buy some icecream and bacon on my way home from work.

Yep I'm pretty much going to be playing Mass Effect 3 until the Witcher 2 comes out; the two big heavy hitters for me this year. No time for Silent Hill yet.

I'm a little fearful for Silent Hill Downpour. Doesn't seem to be enough hype for this game. Mass Effect 3 and Resident Evil: Raccoon City seem to be more talked about. Still, I hope it does well.

Silent Hill HD is definitely on my pre-order list (Christmas gift). I just pray it's not delayed AGAIN now. Please, Konami!

Do they think I'm made of money? How am I to afford this addiction?

I don't mean the quality of the games have been poor but everything surrounding the games have been just dumb (overpriced DLC, DRM, poor business decisions, poor customer services, online pass, retail exclusive dlc) or maybe it might be Jim depressing me with his often negative (if unfortunately accurate) posts.

It's just I feel like I should be more excited for games than I am and I am sure its all the publisher bullshit that has me so bored of it all.

WOW, that's a stupid release schedule.

Hey, I've got an idea! Let's release three (four if you count SH1 AND 2) games from the same series in a two week span!

Everyone will buy all of them, right?! No one will only buy one and wait for the others to drop in price because they can only play one game at a time, right?!!!

Who decides this stuff?

Reviews and previews aren't looking good for Downpour :(

Oh well. Still buying all of these on day one to support the franchise.

Bad move for Konami. March is already a jammed pack month for games. And since I'm not a fan of the Silent Hill sequels, these automatically go towards the low end of my want list. I'm actually most interested in Book of Memories, but since I don't have a Vita. [shrugs]

[Adopts a wait-and-see stance.]

Capcom is releasing three Resident Evil games, two already released, this year, and none of them were released in the same month.

Gritting my teeth for the impact of Downpour being underwhelming (which I hope to the gods its not).

Konami treating SH as a cash cow is completely infuriating however, regardless of the quality of these games.

Downpour or HD Collection?! HNNNG MY BRAIN

Really hope Downpour is good. At least with the HD collection I know I'm getting pure awesomeness. That I've already played 5 times through.

A direct sequel to (or HQ remastering of) "Yu-Gi-Oh: Forbidden Memories" on the PS VITA. Just putting that out there!

Looking forward to people complaining about SH2. It was a great idea for a game, but man, the script was terrible. No, really; I'll be here after you play through the remake, and you can apologize then.

Releasing 3 games in the same series within 3 weeks of each other is just a bad move. Unless the customer has a lot of time and money they're not going to buy all 3 games at release date. HD collection will probably take a normal person longer than 1 week to beat all 3 of those game when you factor in school, friends, work, family, pets, other hobbies, other games, romantic relationships, etc.

"I sometimes think Konami doesn't realize there are other videogame publishers in the world and that this is an actual industry, not just one company's personal hobby."

I think its more a matter of Konami not realizing there's an entire year to sprinkle your games in, or that a year isn't a 30-31 days long. I mean what year is it to them, 24,144?

The other games being released will weigh against them for sure, but Konami's biggest competition here is themselves.

I'm looking forward to the Silent Hill orgy, to be honest. Smart business it isn't, but I've missed the series discussion being all over the internet ever since the voice acting controversy got sorted out.
