Final Fight heading to Xbox LIVE and PSN this April photo

Looks like Super Street Fighter IV doesn’t have the exclusive on the reappearance of Final Fight characters Cody and Guy. Speaking to IGN this afternoon, Capcom revealed Final Fight: Double Impact, an Xbox LIVE and PSN download set to hit this April.

As far as we can tell, this is something of a re-release of Final Fight with a few rocktastic additions, the foremost of which is the inclusion of Magic Sword within the lone download. Cool still is the planned addition of HD visuals and drop-in online co-op. Good luck getting your hands on Haggar, though. I call dibs.

No pricing information or a firm release date were announced, but we're sure we'll hear about this after this Thanksgiving thing in the US blows over.

Doesn't the Wii have this game? And the sequal?

@ artha- I believe the SNES port of Final Fight (which isn't so good) and the SNES-only Final Fight 2 (which is a little better, but still not so good) are on the virtual console.

Final Fighter 3 has been rated for the VC, and should be dropping soon. I don't know if you've played it, but it's pretty awesome.

As for this new FF game, I wonder how they're going to do the HD visuals? That screenshot sure doesn't look HD...

Includes Magic Sword? That's kinda random, nice to see some Magic Sword love though. Hopefully it's SF2THDR graphics and not just sharper sprites

if Capcom was smart, they'd add Final Fight 2 instead of Magic sword.

Final Fight 3 was bad holmes. Don't deny it. Final Fight 2 was the best out the consoles.

and where the hell is Red Earth capcom? I personally want to play it dammit.

This kicks ass! I used to play this at a local 7/11 with my brother, I miss the arcade machines in local shops...

Of all of the Final Fight ports, only one or two could be considered near-perfect. A real shame, given its significance. Maybe they'll finally get it right after like 15 years.

I need to look up on Wiki for Magic Sword....

That said, if this version of Final Fight is close to the Mega-CD version, consider this a purchase. :O)

Oh, I love you Capcom.

First you bring my requested bonus stages back to SF, and now this. Much love goes out, from me to you all.

I hope this sells well enough that we can get some Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, D&D and Aliens vs Predator love.

I'm loving the arcade marquee framing option.

Yeah, that screen style visual should be mandatory on all of these remakes. That is phenomenal, and I am absolutely going to grab this when it comes out.

You know, I mentioned this to my friends last year about Capcom HD games. I always said, "Final Fight was awesome. Why not bring that back?"

Hell fuckin' yeah! I'm all over this, I love me some beat-'em-up action. You can keep Haggar, Guy is my man.

Would they have the gall to charge $15 for this, though? I might have to reconsider if it's more than $10.

@ Shin Oni- Final Fight 2 has dashing, and supers. and Guy. It's really, really hard to go back to Final Fight 2 after getting used to all that.

Final Fight 2 certainly has it's charms though, and my "charms", I mean Maki.

Good to hear, Magic Sword was the shit!

I still love the SNES versions of both games (be honest.. lack of 2-player not withstanding, the Final Fight port was spot on for the time); but to have the real deal versions of both in one package is pretty ace!

when i was a kid i really loved final fight. But now it really sucks compared to streets of rage, the ninja turtles games, several konami beat em ups, and even double dragon. It's really a basic beat em up game. It doesn't hold up too well and can be quite boring.

I still love Final Fight. I had it on Sega CD.

I have a hard-on for most shitty 2D beat-em-ups, especially stuff like Magic Sword. I remember spending probably $10 playing through Knights of the Round at the arcade with a friend. It was fun as hell.

@Holmes

I liked my Maki....no wait I was a straight up Carlos guy. I just thought FF3 was a stepdown even with the dash and supers.

at least it wasn't that awfulness that came out on the PS2.

Yeah it's on virtual console on Wii, but I really doubt it has drop-in online coop.

Mmm...I loves me some Magic Sword. Hey Capcom, how about adding Black Tiger as well? ;)

As much as I love me some classic Beat-em-ups, Dungeon Fighter Online has that particular fix covered.
