Final Fantasy XIII: we're still good for 2009, hour-long demo in movie photo

I'm looking forward to my copy of the Japanese Blu-ray release of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete for many reasons. For one, there are new scenes. And it's shiny and high-def. Oh, and there's an English voice track. But what I really want is the included Final Fantasy XIII demo.

The latest issue of Famitsu has an interview with game director/writer Motomu Toriyama and character designer Nao Ikeda. Kotaku says that they say that this demo is over an hour long and totally replayable. I can't wait!

And as far as the rumored delays of the game go, it seems that the related delay of Dragon Quest XI hasn't messed anything up. Toriyama said that "development is going favorably for a 2009 launch."

We don't know when in 2009, but at least it will be this year.

Speaking of Advent Children Complete, does the movie have English subs? I'd rather not bother with the English VO.

I assume we'll never get this demo? :(

Oh well, at least it's still on track.

Is that a 2009 Japan release? Or worldwide? Bah, why do I even ask? I've been waiting for this game since before FFXII was released...Honestly, why release a trailer four years in advance of the release????

More like a lot goes into making a polished game. When it's a triple A title, it's even more work.

Quit bitching about release dates, because it's better to have a mirror shine polish on a game that you spent $60 than having it a few months sooner.

There's always this fiscal year bullshit if they can't make it within this year.

This is probably going to be a 2009 JAPAN release in all likelihood.

Square said they're not even going to START the 360 version of the game until the Japan PS3 version is done, and depending on whether they release the US PS3 and 360 version simultaneously, we could be looking at nearly a year between Japan and US release since it has to be ported in between as well.

Suck.

The movie has an English voice track, but will the demo be in moonspeak?

2009 means nothing to us. It means they'll release the japanese version on PS3 first then start working on the 360 version to release in the west. And then release the PS3/360 versions out here whenever.

I HOPE it means worldwide, but I doubt it.

I'd like to play this demo, but I sure as shit am not going to pay full price for Advent Children on BD.
