Final Fantasy XIII to get a reveal presentation? photo

Like a television event? I'm not sure, but that's what a script from an upcoming unnamed event makes it sound like.

Los Angeles based commercial ad agency Liz Paulson Casting is looking for someone to do some kind of presentation that will reveal the U.S. Final Fantasy XIII release date. Siliconera has a bit of the script from the casting call. In it, we see that developer commentary will be presented, followed by new game footage and imagery. After that, "camera pans back to reveal release date."

Of course, it does not give the release date. I'm hoping for something soon, and if they're casting for this announcement, that means that they have something set. I hope it comes before all the spoilers get out.

I think it's time for me to start my media blackout for Final Fantasy XIII

"I hope it comes before all the spoilers get out."

I am so with you there Dale. I'm thinking about completely shutting down all of my unnecessary internet activity (meaning that I more or less limit myself to the Destructoid front page in terms of games related websites) in the hopes that I can go into Final Fantasy XIII as unspoiled as possible. I know it seems extreme but just for once I'd like to go into a big, epic RPG like FFXIII with very little spoiled for me.

If not for Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2, I don't think I could stand the wait until FFXIII. It's agonizing. Nothing gets me as excited as a new Final Fantasy game on the horizon. Not GTA, not a new Halo game, not even a new Zelda game.

Time for my irrelevant opinion:

The more I see of this game, the more I hate it. The battles look great, don't get me wrong, but the characters, the setting, and the unforgivably cheesy english voice work, not to mention the abundance of over-the-top melodrama, turns this whole stinking pile into my own personal equivalent of kryptonite. It looks like an extension of 10, and 10 was so horribly corny that I...ugh...I can't even talk about it anymore...just make the next one more like 12 Squeenix, kay? How can anyone watch these trailers and actually be excited for the story?

Seems a bit overblown.

Sadly, I agree with Ironknight. I can't spoil myself anymore!

I guess it's just a matter of perception. From what I've seen, XIII reminds me much more of VIII (which I loved), than X.

I agree with you about XII, it was wonderful. Probably my fourth or fifth favorite game in the series.

I absolutely loved X, I'm sorry. >_> The gameplay was just perfect, and I really liked the characters (Lulu, Auron...yeah). XII though, UGH. The story bounced all over the place and I just couldn't care enough to finish it. Not to mention the battle system played itself, and the chests were random? Meh.

Just my opinion though; I can understand why some people like it. It's just a love it or hate it kind of game.

i love them all for what its worth but 12 has to be my favorite closely followed by 9. 12 just had a really good combat system and i was over the whole "i love because i met you 2 hours ago and i'll kill myself to save you" story. 12 was just really mature in a tactics kind of way.

i'd kill you for myself then i'd kill myself for you.

siliconera have pointed out on their site that "never before seen footage" would mean this announcement would probably take place before the japanese release date. i hope so.

It sounds like you're describing every 3D FF ever... and I wouldn't have it any other way.

To be honest I never played an FF for the plot so much as I play them just to indulge in that universe. Which may be why I could never enjoy 2D FF titles.

Just give me the final 5 seconds of that. Heck, just a frickin' screenshot showing the release date. It tortures me!
