as much as i love final fantasy, i fear its going to be YEARS before i even play XIII. they'll probably be on XV by that point. no way do i see a price drop on that thing anytime soon. at least ill get FF subsidiaries on my DS for awhile.

First off, I'm a hige FF fan. I've played and beaten all of them except XII and III (haven't had time yet) and even gone through and did all the extra things. Exluding XII, FF games have been going downhill since VII. It seems like they've been concentrating on graphics more than what really should matter in an FF game: character development, story, and music (though that one not as much as the first two).

I'm sorry, but FFVIII - FFX have not been good games. VIII was pathetic, I've crapped better games that that. IX tried to go in the right direction, but the story failed miserbly. FFX was pretty, but the world and story was all around silly and borderline stupid. I'm actually a huge fan FFXI, but it's not an FF game. As for XII, I'm not real far into it, but I'm actually loving it.

I can hope that FFXII meant a return to good FF games, but I'm not optimistic. The thing that worries me about FFXIII is that it's on the PS3. This isn't a crack at the PS3 at all, I'm worried that it's on the PS3 because the PS3 is all about concetrating on graphics and making things look pretty.

Personally, I don't care a single bit about graphics in an FF game as long as the story and characters keep me happy, just look at FFVI or even FFIV. I've already seen a pretty FF game alone won't keep me happy as happened with X. I'm just really worried that SE is making a game to show off what they can do on the PS3.

I couldn't finish VIII, it was so annoying and tedious, I did enjoy X though, despite the lack of a deep story, I thought there was a good balance between Tidus and Auron.

Yea XIII sucked..worst one. They tried, but it didn't work. I enjoyed IX though, and X was pretty good..Auron kicked ass.

That's what I'm talking about though in how the charcters look...VII you got the spiky haired kid & a freaking red dog..X you have Auron who just LOOKS like a badass, complete with uhh deformed hand? XI & up though?? I've yet to see a character who looks cool. They all look like normal teenage girls/boys.

Hmmm. I'd have to disagree about VIII sucking. To be honest, VI, VII and VIII are the only ones I've completed (VI was the best, imo). VIII was actually pretty nice, although Squall was a bit too emo for my liking.

I'm dying to try XII. X was nice, and X-2 was ... interesting, but none of them really grabbed me the way the earlier ones did. A lot of people loved IX because it tried to return to the roots of the series, but somehow, I just couldn't bring myself to play past the first disc.

XIII looks promising to say the least. I like the sci-fi setting I've seen so far. It's different from previous Final Fantasies, so one can only imagine Square is attempting some sort of reboot of the franchise. And yea, I almost wish on some level that the game sucks...I so don't want a PS3 just for one game. But then again, I do.

do you know when squeenix is gonna release the trailers they showed at Jump Fiesta 2007 to the public? i really wanna see those... in regards to the double-F's, personally, i liked VII the least so far... I started at X, and got addicted... i've played X, X-2 (bad game, no replay value whatsoever), IV, VII, VIII, and IX (and soon XII). my favorites are either IV, VIII, or X, but I think X takes it for me... it's the only game that's ever made me cry!!! VII might have if I wasn't used to PS2 graphics by the time I played it...

Im not gonna comment on how i think this game is gonna rule square-enix has dissapointed me a couple times so far. They lost Hironobu because he said he would never do a FF sequel to a previous final fantasy title. And look how bad X-2 was if you like that game shoot yourself fucking baby shit. Weak story and omg dresspheres thats so awesome!! Pfft

And banter dont yell at people because they have different opinions. Some people dont like FFXII because the combat system. People playing Final Fantasys since 3 on the snes were a little distraught from the change and our trying to get used to it. I myself havent had much time to play FFXII but will be trying to play it soon. So im not gonna hate on it.

But i wont get excited or even comment until i see demos of this games gameplay get a feel for the story and the characters. What makes me nervous is that there pushing out 3 FF titles in such a short time and i hope they arent watered down hi graphic clones, with weak gameplay and story.

I'm with Chris on this one. I loved VIII despite whatever faults it might have had. I also agree there is yet to be a bad FF game. Sure, there are some that aren't as good as the others, but none of them are bad.

Thisissami, sorry, I have no idea when the Jump Fiesta trailers will be released. So far, the only ones I've seen are for Revenant Wings, Ring of Fates and Dragon Quest IX. Hopefully they'll release the FFXIII trailer soon.
