Just in case you didn't know, Final Fantasy XIII is being played right now and fed live via the gift of the Internet to your very monitor. Simply head here where a heroic individual is streaming footage from the game. It's in Moonspeak of course, but you should get plenty of visual stimulation, with emphasis on the stimulation. It looks very, very nice!
It's also worth checking out for the fanboy nonsense going on in the chatroom next to the video. There's some good stuff going on in there, so at least give that a read. If you decide to watch the footage, which also includes a trailer for Versus XIII, let us know what you think!
Remember, this footage comes from the bonus demo included with the Blu-ray version of Advent Children and isn't available until the 16th. Not that that's stopped us from embedding the footage, which you can view after the jump.

Meet the rest of the team
that chat is the reason I got to dtoid. I love you dtoid. The game looks pretty good so far much more traditional than 12's battle system which I like.
Really? That's you're great constructive comment on the demo? Good job.
The battle kind of looks a bit more active. The game definitely looks pretty, I'm interested to see if this will change anything, gameplay-wise, for the series.
When you get bent over repeatedly by Square-Enix and they don't even have the common courtesy to use lubrication, you tend to be a little sour at the Shit they produce.
Seriously, the chat room is the best part of this. It's even more entertaining than the demo. My favorite parts are where the Sony fanboys dismiss XIII and claim that XIII Versus is now the "definitive version" of the game. I also like the guy who claims Rinoa was "into the bestiality with the dog."
The game itself looks pretty in cgi movies and looks like FF10 for the rest? Not that impressive imo. Graphics look like they could easily be done on either system.. 2 years ago? :)
I have been pumped for this game since before the PS3 was released(I think). With that in mind I want as much of this game to be unknown as possible, with exception of course. Therefore I will, perhaps foolishly, judging from their recent track record, trust Square Enix to make a game worth playing and avoid most news, previews, hands-on etc.
The main characters arrive on a train, one of them is black, they fight a bunch of soldiers before getting to the first boss who is a giant robotic scorpion, their mission goes awry when a walkway collapses and somebody falls into the hivecity below.
Sounds like FF7 to me. Not saying that's a bad thing, just pointing it out.
This demo actually peeked my interest more than I thought this game actually would. Im not an JRPG fan or RPG in general but I look forward to seeing more of this title.
I'm impressed, and looking forward to FF13 even more now. I do like the battle system, I like how you can, well what it appears to be, line up several attacks all withint the action meter that recharges, opens it up more to combo's and stuff I guess. It didn't seem like you could control your teammates though, maybe later on you'll unlock a system though, like in FF12, you didn't get full access to the gambit until a few hours in. Anyways, it looks and sounds great, as for the story and characters, we'll can't really tell from this stream, but I'm still excited for it. Thank you for posting this Jim.
We're supposed to fight these monsters in real-time while looking at like 4 gauges, managing like 4 party members and shuffling spells all at the same time using a gamepad? Sheezh, You'll be too busy looking at visual cues to enjoy the game.
Good grief!!! Bring on Valkyria Chronicles 2!!! At least that streamlined and simplified compared to this eye cancer.
I thought the days of making JRPGs for masochists was over.
Yes thank you Jim and thank you to whoever recorded this you are a godsend. Now I won't have to shell out 25 bucks for ACC and I'm not possessed by ridiculous imaginings of a miracle, cancer-curing video game.
It was hard to keep up reading the spam trashing and Bill Gates referring garbage, so I just full screened the feed and enjoyed. Its hard to think of when I saw more crap talking and collective dumbass-ery in recent memory. I saw some Japanese people talking, then the shit-spouters took over and the japanese stopped talking.

Given your avatar, I somehow doubt that :D

Notice how I capitalized Shit?
Pure masterminds at the keyboards tonight.
Given what's happening right now, this comment thread is threatening to turn into a slow version of that chat room.
Still, better late then never.
Oh, and by the way, there's a fucking chicken on that black man's afro!

Hopefully the story is good!
MUSIC KICKS ASS!
And how about those helgahst enemies, hahaha, still look awesome though.
also, demo was meh. I'm sure it's because I don't have the attention span to watch anyone else play a game.
How many discs for the Xbox 360 version? (please don't crucify me, I honestly would like to know)
Sounds like FF7 to me. Not saying that's a bad thing, just pointing it out.
Crucify him! Crucify him! LOL
