Assuming the same holds true for XIII to XIII-2, SquareEnix can expect to move over 3.5 million units. It's no surprise they want to make one.
Well, ladies and gentlemen, I give you exhibit A.
People are acting like Bulletwitch or a similarily terrible game is getting a sequel, here.
XIII got poor reviews on Japanese image boards and just about every other internet source adopted the same idea.
XIII was my favorite final fantasy. Some of you just refuse to see the series evolve in any way. Infact you guys remind me of people who have 7 as their favorite game of all time and dismiss all other FF's because they aren't 7.
I hated XII but i dont look for every place on the internet to complain about it.
There are about 3-4 Final Fantasies to look forward to, quit whining about the fact that you don't like one, that you know nothing about, that wasn't a trailer thats teaser or announcement at best.
One thing i do have to comment on is that she is wearing yuna's x-2 outfit with armor top and feather sidedress thingy.
Here's hoping that they've decided that removing the player from the experience just about as much as they could was indeed a design mistake. Could do with less hand holding too.
You could eliminate the shift system and just put everything under magic and streamline the selection process alot more and allow us to switch between characters, because getting the game over screen just because the character your playing as died was just stupid, especially when you have 2 fully functional characters left and enough revival items in your Inventory to bring back half of America from the dead.this made playing as low health characters( hope in particular) a damn nightmare, the boy goes down if they chuck anything tougher than a taco at him.
YAY JIM, YOU'RE ACTUALLY DOING IT!!!!!!!!!
Or Square could fuck up again, it's a 50-50 bet these days.
With a two year development time for this game (between the JP dates for the two) less emphasis will be placed on art and style (amazing as it was) and more on plot and character.
Actually, I don't have a problem with the notion of them taking all those assets they lavishly built, and making a better game with them. My biggest issue with FF13 was that it wanted to be a movie - and not even a really great one. I even liked the combat system, once you actually got to use it.
Yet, it's not going on my "buy" list just yet. We shall see, Square Enix. We shall see.
"The trailer and logo reveal that Lightning has a rival this time around. Two attractive ladies with giant swords? I must say, that already sounds like an improvement."
i thought so too, until i watched the trailer and realized the other girl looks more like a guy. :/
I don't EXPECT anything from SquareEnix, anymore, aside from disappointment. I still hope, though.
