I find it hard to care about FF anymore. It's nothing more than endless sequels with terrible stories and stupid characters.

Well.. I'll download it and try it, but I won't make any promises to like it. Not even real sure I want to waste the over 1gb of my data cap that I know this will end up being.
BUT! I decided that for all my ill thoughts for XIII that I was going to try to be objective for this one. At least this time I'll be able to try it before I buy it, which I wish I could have done for the last one.

Beating the demo, with all the design changes, I still dunno if i want the game...
But after seeing the trailer upon beating it, it hypes me up so bad...

I played the game at an event. If anybody cares to explain how the fuck it actually works let me know, I have no idea what the hell I was doing.
I will play this, eventually. But with Skyrim in the queue and ME3 coming up, not to mention a healthy backlog already, I'm in no rush.
After playing and completing the full game over xmas break i prefer XIII. The game is awful and the last frame of the ending before credits made me want punch TV so hard. Shame you only play lightning for the bahamut battle and she in the game for much makes wonder they only put her on cover to try sell game to her fans
how bout some love for the Asura's Wrath demo? a game that doesn't take itself as seriously as FF13 does.

There is a "to be continued" shot right before the credits. Either there's DLC, either another game (13-3?), but that's a dick move.

Considering the sales for XIII-2 weren't THAT stellar in Japan, I'm sure they'll release it as DLC instead of making the gamble of releasing a new game. Either way, it's all bad on Square's part. But then again, you can't expect much out of them these days.

Same shit happened to me when I was playing the demo an hour ago. I had such a hard time understanding the crazy battle system that I got annoyed and turned it off.

I am a true final fantasy fan have always been and will always be the thing about final fantasy or any game people will like some eople wont it dosent matter what game it is final fantasy xii was not the best but it had things that were great the battle system graphics i just played the xiii-2 demo.
is xiii-2 going to be better i will say this it looks way better like its more polished but we will have to wait for the full version i didnt like xiii but i didnt hate it either if that makes sense i will play every single final fantasy for they all have faults and they all have good stuff well thats all for my comment let the hate begin

So do you have to buy all items in game with real life money, or just most of them/the only ones that are worth a damn?

One of the few games I'm actaully excited about this year. I really like how they added elements of Dragon Quest Monsters and Chrono Trigger.
I hope FF XIII-2 does better in the US then it did in Japan, but it's hard to say with all the "hardcore gamers" that need need peer approval in order to enjoy a game.

I'm not a huge fan of FF but I love FF7 it's my fav but I have tryed to play FF XII and I did not like the battle system it cunfused me but in FF XII-2 I understand it a little better.But I know for sure that I can't wait for the full version :D
I feel like I've grown out of jrpgs ever since I played fallout 3, then new vegas and now skyrim. Ill still play it but ff9 still is the best ever

I've been playing... well, enduring Final Fantasy XIII and after playing this demo its going to be really, really hard to go back. There are a lot of good improvements here.
I don't expect the story to be that much better, but it is infinitely more fun to play than FFXIII has been so far. How these games play is ultimately what matters to me. All the good story in the world will not make a bad game good for me, but great gameplay can salvage a lousy story to an extent. At least to the point where I don't feel the story wasted my time.

As a guy who could not stand FFXIII... this is everything I wanted from FFXIII. Good job Square Enix, I am proud.
I'll keep an open mind but XIII dissapointed me. I've still got VIII, IX, & X, & I haven't even got a PS2 to play the X on, but I traded XIII in pretty quickly.

I own FFXIII for PS3, I know it's the superior version, and yet I still want to buy a 360 copy and play it. THOSE DANG ACHIEVEMENTS GOT THEIR HOOKS IN ME.
As someone who likes JRPGs but has never beat a Final Fantasy game I think the Demo was interesting, mainly due to the QTEs, nice environments, some cool character design (Atlas), solid graphics. However when it comes to turn-based RPGs things tend to get repetitive quickly and I usually like this style of game-play but back in the SNES days as today is not too engaging I believe. Conversations could be better too.
As many of you what got me super hyped was the end of the Demo with the exciting video haha.
Still I know I won't pick this or any Final Fantasy game soon, because I hate to know nothing about the story and world's events and I really don't have time to play like 15+ FF games.
Still for those hardcore FF fans out there it seems XIII-2 will be a solid game overall (but as many others I kind of dislike the "kids save the world story", FF needs some serious mature well-developed characters and not just some teenagers hehe).

D4rth Man7iz: You don't need to play any amount of Final Fantasy games. They are all separate entities, with different characters and stories that are in no way connected (unless you play Final Fantasy X-2 or XIII-2, obviously).
And concerning the demo: turned it off halfway through the first battle. It's the same spikey-haired kid as always, the techno music is not something I want to hear in my Final Fantasy battles and, well, meh. It's beginning to dawn on me that for me the last good game in the series was IX :(
