Final Fantasy XI: get back into the fight with 'Return Home to Vana'diel' photo

The “Return Home to Vana’diel” campaign has be reinstated. Former players of Final Fantasy XI with lapsed accounts, deleted Content IDs and deleted PlayOnline accounts can now restore their accounts and jump back in under this campaign.

And this service has been upgraded since its last occurrence: instead of only being able to restore your last character, now any deleted character can be brought back. As a bonus, anyone who restores their characters before May of next year will receive an Anniversary Ring item, which gives players the chance to gain experience point bonuses.

The Return Home to Vana’diel campaign is good from today (December 18th) through April 15th, 2009.

Stuff like this makes me glad I never got hooked on MMORPGs. I'd be coming back every time one of these popped up.

I loved that game but it just took soo looong to do anything in that game it was pretty ridiculous. And by the time I got to the 30's people would look down on me because I didn't have the 'correct' subjob or the 'correct' gear for my level.

Although now I hear that the game doesn't really start till you reach level 55 anyway... I just don't have that kind of time to devote to it any more.

Wow, that's kinda cool that you can reactivate old deleted Contend ID's. I stopped playing then went back a year later to find my character was deleted and my content ID was no long valid. If I can see my old lvl 55 Dragoon again, I might try this.
