Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD look gooooood in this trailer

5:30 PM on 03.25.2013

Are you ready to play Final Fantasy X and X-2 again? I have been since X was announced for Vita at TGS a couple of years ago. We knew it would look better, but that it wouldn't be a total overhaul, and this new trailer shows exactly that.

Yes, this clip of the opening of Final Fantasy X (the campfire/picnic in the worst place ever for a picnic scene) looks better, but it won't blow your face off with quality. Close-ups have a bit of plastic face action going on, showing that the upgrade is more about resolution than anything else.

Still, I'm not being an ungrateful bastard, and I think the remaster work looks good so far. I'm more than ready to play both X and X-2 again, and am excited that they're coming to both the PS3 and Vita.

"What can I do for you?" Well, you can show me some gameplay! Final Fantasy X-2 is not in the trailer other than a quick tease -- no footage shown. I would love to see some HD Dressphere action. As I said in a panel at PAX East this past weekend, I am one that loved that game.

Fingers crossed for a summer release on these.

Final Fantasy XV screenshots from TGS are...uh

You've seen the trailer so now see the screenshots Square Enix handed me this morning at Tokyo Game Show 2014 for Final Fantasy XV. They're having a tailgating party. Car-b-que. It's a nice car, I guess. But the screenshots look nice! That battle one does something for me. The upcoming Xbox One and PS4 title has this new media, but that's the only thing you'll get out of TGS 2014. Hang in there.more
