Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children limited edition is pretty photo

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children was like chocolate cake wrapped around cheesecake and dipped in whip cream for me. In one word: orgasmic.

Now we’re getting a limited edition collector’s set for the movie and it’s like they just added sprinkles and a cherry to it. Available in a new case design created by Tetsuya Nomura, the limited edition set comes with the same movie and features as the previous movie, but now includes theatrical trailers, a bonus script, book and postcards.

So if you are a Final Fantasy fan and you don’t own this movie yet, there is no reason why you shouldn’t pick it up now, especially when Amazon.com is offering the set at $34.99 for pre-order, instead of the normal price of $45.95. Order yours now before it hits stores on February 20, 2007.

Get your sweet FFVII candy treat now.

There is one reason you might think twice about picking it up: it's just not really that great. Sure, it's really pretty and the fight scenes are completely awesome, but the story is nonsensical gibbery joo. If they replaced all the dialogue in the film with all the characters simply saying their own names over and over a la pokemon, it wouldn't greatly impact the quality of the film. On second thoughts, it'd probably make it a bit better. Worth a watch for FFVII fans, sure. In my opinion though, spirits within was a much better film.

Dammit, they always do this to me. I go and buy the version that comes out when it releases and then months later they have to come out with this!

Damn you Square! Damn you and my FF fanboyness for making me want to buy it anyway!

Great movie, even just for Tifa alone. I'm okay that it doesn't mako alot of sense. FFVII didn't make sense, so that is not required of the sequel. Any new news about a remake of VII for the PS3?

So what, Advent Children is going to start getting the Evangelion rerelease treatment? Oh right, I forgot that SquareEnix likes to rerelease a million versions of their products; FFI is proof of that. (But why no VC option yet!?)

@ Mozgus:
It does have a Japanese audio option, as well as the bonus OVA, Last Order: Final Fantasy VII. Still, if you didn't like the original, I guess you won't want to buy it again.

What's the deal Square? Why is this not out on Blu-Ray? Oh that's right....

Blu-ray release is supposedly sometime this year... and that's for the extended director's cut version listed for a Japanese release. No word on an American one yet though.

Feh, I didn't like the dub, but the official subtitle job was worse. I still prefer the DVD rip and fansub I got with the Japanese release, what, two years ago?

Although, I don't technically own it yet. And I am a sucker for special edition trinkets. Hmm.

Ugh, not more bullshit for the annoying 14 year old fangirls to gape at. Please get me a barf bag and a noose because I'm not sure how much of this I can take. The movie itself was pretty damn boring and the same recycled crap they've been producing recently. I'm ashamed of you Faith for "orgasming" over something like this. It's a gagging thought thinking about all the gitty girls who can't hold their hormones when it comes to this crap.

FF7 = Above Average
FF7 Advent Children = Below average

Things are going downhill. God I hate the fanbase of FF7.

It was like FF7 minus the cool characters (showing up to fly across rooftops randomly doesn't count) plus a Linkin Park kind of mood. Complete with totally rad but totally "wtf that doesn't even make sense" action scenes, on roids.

IMO.

To be fair Gatsu, besides the lack of Cloud dialouge, you could totally draw comparisons from FF7 to Berserk.
Except the blood... there is a lot more blood... lots more blood.

The only comparison is that large swords both main characters have. Nothing else.
