This trailer has been making the rounds over the past few days, and now we're bringing it to all you lovely people. Final Fantasy Type-0 for the PSP has been inching its way through the development cycle, but it will finally make its Japanese release on October 13, with releases out West still pending.
In this new Kurosawa-length trailer, we get a good glimpse at the game's real-time battle system as well as the whole spectrum of Square Enix character tropes. Seriously, there are so many characters in this game that they've started naming 'em after playing cards, such as "Ace," "Deuce," "Seven," and "Jack." I was hoping for some Uno-inspired characters myself, like "Draw Two," "Skip," and "Wild."
This game looks like a masterpiece, and nothing about the trailer is gratuitous. It's a huge game, and really they barely got to show all the features. They didn't show the explorable towns, NPCs, sidequests. They didn't show the multiple world maps explorable through airship and chocobo. They only showed about 1 minute of the new songs released on disc last week. They didn't even show all the main characters yet - there are 3 left in Class Zero to be fully introduced.
For those that never saw the 20 minute gameplay demo, it's here.

@Zeldrick: Bump of Chicken is a Japanese rock band that's doing the guest theme song for the game.
Alright now they can get starter on Versus. The last trailer was a letdown but I'm confident it will be wonderful. I do miss the days when J-RPG's were good and a dime a dozen.
@ Daxelman: Draw-Two would totally be a Samurai class character
Looking good. Reminds of Valkyria Chronicles a bit (not a gorgeous though, but nothing can match the CANVAS engine in that department). Let's hope it's a better experience than 13 and actually gives us insight into the mythos. Aren't they going for simultaneous release or will it be a 3rd Birthday deal?
Also, I'm really surprised at how brutal the game looks. Unless it gets censored for the US(please don't) it looks like it'll easily be the first M rated Final Fantasy.
If this comes to US, please allow downloadable version. Changing discs are lame. But knowing Square and what they did with Kingdom Hearts BbS, they won't.
All that's fine and good in my eyes, but what i'm Really looking forward to seeing now is Mr Jim Sterling putting his spiky shoe up a certain someone's ass, all according to the two simple rules for Square Enix.
Looks like all FF games before it, cut from the same tacky cloth. However, due to the saturated jrpg market, now having me enjoying them and playing them much less, I'd pick this up for my PSP collection.
Man, if I see another highschool wannabe hero. Kinda had it with them, and their lame futura sailor fuku. Something new please, Square.
It's another videogame-themed episode of Man at Arms. This time, he recreated Cloud's Buster Sword from Final Fantasy VII. I love this show so much. A master blacksmith recreates videogame weapons and then goes around smashing a bunch of stuff. I love it!

Final Fantasy IV is easily one of my favorite soundtracks in the series. That's probably because it contains one of my favorite tracks of all time, "Troian Beauty." Square Enix apparently agrees and is re-releasing the long o...
