Shonen Jump is at it again. This time with info and images on a PSP remake of a game that some believe is better than sex, Final Fantasy Tactics. Not a direct port, the remake will feature at least one new job class, brand new illustrated full motion video, and will be presented in widescreen.
Originally released on the Playstation in 1997, Final Fantasy Tactics was a departure from the series, with its tactical roleplaying style, and a battle system that hadn't been previously seen in the franchise. The game spawned at least two spin-offs (Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for the GBA and Final Fantasy XII), giving cosplayers worldwide even more reasons to spend hours in their parents' basement constructing Dragoon costumes.
While many of you might be rolling your eyes at yet another remake or a port making its way to the PSP, many believe the original Final Fantasy Tactics to be perfect. Whether new cut scenes, widescreen support, and potentially long PSP load times will improve on the game remains to be seen.

[Update: 1up.com is reporting that the full title of the game will be Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War.
Additionally, Square Enix has announced another Tactics title called Final Fantasy Tactics A2: The Sealed Grimoire. While the platform for the game hasn't been announced, one can assume it's a sequel to Final Fantasy Advance (Get it? A2?) and will likely appear on a Nintendo handheld (hint: Japan sure does like the DS).
Wonder what class they are adding...
Also after playing through it twice, I still don't understand the story.
He can only use items/weapons manufactured in one town, and his "persuasion skill" makes other human characters commit suicide after he talks to them for six hours at length about technical specs and his stock portfolio.
in other news:
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO now I have to buy a fucking PSP
1. Take a game that would benefit highly from stylus controls and a 2nd screen that doesn't have super high end graphics or huge amounts of cutscenes
2. Make the game for the PSP instead
3. ???
4. Be disappointed in lack of profit!!!
Luckily however... i have a copy for the psx, both it and my ps2 are in working condition, i don't give a damn about one new job class, and most of those cutscenes will wind up being avaible online anyway; thus leaving me STILL little to no reason to desire a PSP... This is much like when i heard they were coming out with disgaea for PSP, but i had that covered too
y'know i've actaully been thinking of playing it again... it's been quite a long time really...
kickass.
gladius portable? somebody hear my cries
