Precisely the reason why adults shy away from Nintendo, you can be sure that PSVita will get a proper RPG from squeenix, while 3ds gets a travesty.
I'm not much of a Final Fantasy fan, but I'm really intrested in this. Plus, no matter what one thinks of the FF games themselves, the music within them is one of the finest in all of gamedom.
I think they could even kick it up a notch, by combining command based game play with rhythm game play. Imagine choosing different commands like summons or spells and depending on how well you execute the series of rhythm commands you get more powerful versions of the spells.

the ds got at least 30 rpgs from square enix. The 3ds has at least 2 rpgs from square enix in development right now

Um DS got shit tonnes of "serious" (though how you can call the FF series serious is laughable) FF titles, FFIII & IV total remakes, as well as an XII sequel.
Sure, PSP got Crisis Core but if you compare the PSP ports of I & II with the DS versions of III & IV, clearly more work went into the latter.
I'm not saying either is better, but the DS was the best Square Enix supported Nintendo console since the SNES.
Either way, this sounds like a strange as fuck but pretty cool idea. Paper Mario meets Elite Beat Agents. At this point any 3rd party 3DS title is a good one.

Man that is an awful name, but the idea sounds good enough. The FF series has some great music so this may actually be a good idea if implemented well.
It's not a hard game to pronounce, but it is to fucking spell. Rhythm has always been one of those bitch words for me, so let's cram a mispelling of theatre in front of it and take it from there.

You forgot War of the Lions on PSP, but I still agree with your point. DS whooped the shiny off the PSP when it came to SE RPG re-makes and new stuff like TWEWY, Four Warriors of Light and Tactics A2. And this is from someone who thought the PSP rpg library was pretty damn solid.

Taiko Drum Master DS 3's RPG mode was my favorite music/rhythm-based RPG of last year, so I already know I want this, badly. Please release this outside of Japan, Square-Enix. PLEASE. I'll never ask you for another thing in my life.
