Final Fantasy flavored Crystal Defenders coming to XBLA this week photo

Along with PopCap's Peggle, Square Enix's Crystal Defenders will also be finding its way to Xbox LIVE Arcade this Wednesday.

The tower defense game features characters from Final Fantasy Tactics A2 and -- OMG! -- if you're a Final Fantasy fan, isn't that enough to give them your 800 MS Points? I'll be honest, I'm not a huge Final Fantasy nerd, but resident RPG-fanatics Dale and Colette are M.I.A. and someone has to tell you about this stuff, right?

If you want more info, check out the official Crystal Defenders page on Xbox.com and get all excited about Black Mages all up in your Xbox 360s.

A good game of Tower Defense never hurts, but 400 points would have been more acceptable. Unless there's a lot of depth and content that is. Hm.

Torn about this one... Pretty expensive for a TD game

I'm certainly interested in both. I'll probably wait and see on Crystal Defenders: need more input. Peggle I will likely get. :)

I chose fieldrunners over this on the iphones on the loads of reviews saying that this one was mediocre, had weird controls, and wasn't so deep. I wonder if they changed anything (other than the controls)

Will it compare with pixeljunk monsters, something I still enjoy playing and suck at? lol

Isn't that like a cellphone game or something?

@Wedge: Yes.

Might get this when it hits PlayStation Network... eventually.

seriously? People would pay money to play this final fantasy flavored Tower Defense game? I'm probably sure that there are better Tower Defense games out there in the internet for FREE.

The iPhone version of Crystal Defense is like $8 right? Why is this more?

I'll be downloading the Maw level and Peggle though

How much is 800 MS points converting into U.S. dollars?

@ BlackFreefall,
$10

@ naia-the-gamer,
most likely because of licensing issues.

itd be cool for a Steam version. considering the game would be a quick download at a school/work computer, have a way to access your save file and than of course throw in Steam Achieves

Hopefully this version won't suffer from the horrible interface of the iPhone version. If they nail the controls (which shouldn't be hard at all), I'm down for this one. It looks like there's enough content and depth there to keep me busy.

if it were 400 points...I would probably buy it in hopes that Squeenix gets around to making good XBLA games.

at 800 I demo and go back to playing Braid.
