I am less of a Final Fantasy fangirl than I used to be since Square's decision to make everything other than Cloud Strife Orders a Quarter Pounder as a playable title, but I have to admit to looking forward to FFCC: The Crystal Bearers. Maybe I've been fooled by my own nostalgia, but something about it reminds me of the good old days of the series before Enix came along.
Of course I could be wrong, and the feeling I'm having could be the same one that I get when I see a chocobo and squeak joyfully, but I hope I'm not wrong. Someone needs to give the Wii something worthwhile, as I'm sure it is sick of the taste of minigames. Have mercy on the consoles, people! They have feelings too.
The first one could've been really good, I liked the graphics and all but having to have 3-4 GBA so play the fucking thing is just a bad idea. If i didnt just drop a $120 on there other games plus preordering Ninja Gaiden DS, I would get this.
I have the same reservations as you, Colette. I'm worried that this isn't going to be particularly deep, similar to how Crystal Chronicles was somewhat shallow. It seems these days that the company seems to ride more on the namesake than the game itself.
I'd kill for another Chrono Trigger-like game. Take a dream team, throw them in a room, and tell them they have to make a game that isn't Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest.
It's no wonder some of the more respectable members bailed.
I loved the original Crystal Chronicles, but if there's one thing that trailer didn't do, it was get me hyped for this one. Show some fighting and magic and monsters, SquareEnix!
Wow, all my questions about the game are finally answered by that video!
How will it play? Zero fights and a lot of walking around towns talking to people! And inventory screens!
Thanks, Square! Anyone not hyped for this game after that video needs to be disbarred from BEING COOL.
Seriously though, what the crap was that? This is even worse than Square's NORMAL trailer-making tactic of featuring nothing but pretty CG. At least those ones are exciting.
Dester, Daedhead- This trailer isn't for the 'real' sequel to Crystal Chronicles on the game cube. This trailer is for the WiiWare title: My Life as a King, which is a spin off- seems a little Sim/animal crossing/harvest moon. NOT an action adventure game like the GC version, or upcoming Wii sequel.

'I cant wait, FF is my favorite :)'
I remember me and my buddies crowding around the GC with our GBAs all psyched to play. FFCC is one of my favorite multiplayer games of all time.
