While Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles didn't go over so well, anything with the words "final" and "fantasy" in it are enough to get cosplayers and various other nerds worked up into a hot sweat. So here we go again.

Shonen Jump has published some new information on the upcoming DS follow-up, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates. The first thing you'll notice is an art style that is extremely similar to that found in the recent DS remake, Final Fantasy III. The second thing you'll notice is that all of the text found in the scans is in Japanese, so I have no idea what most of it says.

So this is where you guys come in -- translate and speculate away! Chop, chop! Get to work!

[Update: Destructoid reader westcabaretdrive was kind enough to give us a rough translation of the article. Hit the jump for his work. Thanks! You rule and we will not eat your first born.]

I am very excited for this game....I had the GameCube Chronicles but never got to finish it but doing it on the DS would be a GREAT IDEA!!! hopefully it will support Wi-Fi co-op.

Crystal Chronicles was SW33T! Then again, between all of my roommates, we had four GBAs and GameCube connector cables...

here's my sloppy translation:

PAGE ONE
(main text)
The Crystals remember
Holy prayers and evil fates
(under the name)
See it at Jump Fest. The story of fate.
(in the box)
Jump Fest 2007, at Square-Enix you can trial play.

PAGE TWO
At the top, it talks about it being unveiled at Jump Fest 2007, and you'll be able to play two modes: Single Mode and Multi Battle with four characters (like in the previous Crystal Chronicles, so bring your friends, etc.).

The names of the game's main characters in the picture are Yuuri (boy) and Cherinka (girl). The picture to the left is Yuuri calling to his Dad.

At the bottom right it talks about story:
(next to book) "Disaster one day in a quiet town?!"
(up arrow) "Something big occurs in a peaceful town. What is the 'Red Crystal'!?"
Robot in picture: "Rrgh... in short, with this kind of red crystal you have to be careful."
(right arrow) "Friend or enemy!? A mystery person stands in front of the two kids!!"

In the news flash bubble it says "Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Crystal Bearers is decided for Wii. More interesting reports coming later in Weekly Jump!!"

In the bottom right:
"There's no place apart from Jump Fest to play the latest Crystal Chronicles!!"
Then it's got the dates and says come to Makuhari Messe.

I'm going to be Final Fantasied out if they keep releasing FF games this quickly. I still haven't beat FFIII and FFXII and with FFVI coming out for Advanced I'm gonna be burned out.

Now I have to do work and figure out where and when Jump Fest is so I can try it out. Hopefully it will come out before I leave for the states.

God, I hate Japanese picture captions in ads. They're so freaking CHEESY.

I honestly hope this game actually uses the dual screen setup this time. *cough cough ffiii cough cough*
