Fight Night Round 4 'Champions Pack 2' yanked off of XBL photo

If it’s broken, EA Sports will fix it -- just don’t expect it to be quick.

Xbox 360 user reports of Fight Night Round 4 freezing after downloading the latest DLC for the game -- “Champions Pack 2” -- were confirmed on December 4th after the publisher elected to pull the content from Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

EA plans to release the DLC again sometime within the next few weeks.

“We regret to inform Xbox 360 users that due to freezing issues that users have been experiencing when downloading ‘Champions Pack 2,’” wrote EA Sports community manager “sk88z” in an official message board thread about the DLC, “we have come to the tough decision to take the DLC down from XBL Marketplace, fix the issue, and look to prop up a correct ‘Champions Pack’ 2 in the near future.

“Unfortunately, the fix requires a full pass of approvals by all parties involve and may take longer than a few days.”

The now-yanked DLC added three historic meatheads to the game’s roster, including Evander Holyfield and Bernard Hopkins. It also added two game modes, one of which simulated old-school rules before the “establishment of the Marquis of Queensbury” rule set.

Xbox 360 users who downloaded the pack were greeted with immediate in-game freezing issues. Other users have reported stalls during the download process (which may have occurred after the DLC was wiped off of Xbox LIVE), and various profile oddities.

The PSN version of the content seems fine to download.

According to sk88z, the goal is to have the content ready to download again before this Christmas holiday. No plans for refunds for those who downloaded have been announced.
