There's no argument that Ryse: Son of Rome is pretty, and more evidence of that has been made available through the launch trailer released today. Visually, it's downright gorgeous, but doesn't look like it's particularly fun. Based on what Dale had to say in his most recent preview, the combat sounds unrelenting (normally a good thing) and stiff (less good).
As a dude who likes the pace of a game to feel like it's accelerating, the methodical combat Ryse seems to feature is probably not going to be my bag. At least it isn't the total QTE-fest some of us feared and maybe we'll get surprised by the final review, but I'm not holding out hope.
