Never, ever watch something pertaining to The Grudge when you're only half paying attention because at some point that stupid noise the pale little Asian kid makes is going to happen and if you're not ready for it it's going to scare the poop out of you. At least that just happened with me watching the first trailer for the upcoming The Grudge game, which is being developed under the name Feel.
I have to admit that this looks like some survival horror at its finest. You, alone, no weapons, tons of shadows and a flashlight. The only things you could ask for on top of that is some solid graphics and creepy black haired Asian children wandering around. Check and check. I suppose we'll also need to ask for this game to be brought over to America, which is highly unlikely. If it ever is, who wants to put money down that they change one of the characters into Sarah Michelle Gellar?

I never understood why they don't kick those ghosts right in the face. They're already on the floor. Just walk right up and give their head a good punt. There, not so scary now, huh bitch. Unless they're invisible...
I don't know hot this can be scary , if you can't fight , you can't die , if you can't die , why would I get scared of a little asian albino burping child?
Cool, as much as I hate The Grudge for being a lame copy of Ju-on(Japanese original) and the american "re-makes" of succesful foreign movies (specially Japanese) like The Eye, The Ring, Dark Water, One Missed Call, A Fistful Of Dollars, Kill Bill and the list goes on and on, my point is that all these movies are ok but if you have seen the original ones you would understand how shallow and flashy they are compared to the much better originals.
As a big horror fan this game is good news for me, I just hope its creepy and atmospheric as fuck without any cheasy or corny moments, corny+cheasy can be good but I prefer it in splatters(cant wait for dead rising 2)
Hopefully this will have a greater focus on the horror than recent 'horror' games, where you run around as an extremely capable guy a huge arsenal of devastating weapons blowing the shit out of everything.
This looks scripted. I mean what player would actually bob their camera up and down and step backwards after looking at a child? Also, can you die? If not, what's scary about that?
@ Chronic- Yes, you can die. I read somewhere that there is multiplayer as well, with other players controlling when the scares come out.
Will definitely import, but hopefully it will just get localized. I mean, if we got a localized City of Lost Children game on the PS1, why wouldn't we get this?
Hm, graphics are pretty good! Not the best or scariest trailer really, but the game, surprisingly, seems to have had a fair amount of effort put into it.If it comes here I'll check it out
kill bill is not a remake you are right, it's a rip-off (check out Japanese movie Lady Snowblood) And fistful of dollars is great I agree Im a big spageti western fan (Sergio Leone+Ennio Moriconne=WIN) but its still an "unnoficial remake" (rip-off) from the Japanese movie Yojimbo
Why do people have such a high regard for Ringu (Japanese The Ring)? That was quite possibly the stupidest thing I've seen. For those who haven't seen it think The Ring, the woman watches the tape, tells the guy, then takes a complete back seat to him (silly woman, you can't figure out the mystery, your XX chromosomes aren't designed for thinking) and mainly only comes into play again whenever the guy needs someone to smack around for being hysterical. The well kid's psychic, her mother was psychic, and the main guy (the photographer in US) happens to be psychic as well. It was like a gumbo of various Japanese stereotypes mixed together. The remake was much better.
Never said Ringu was that good. I just said it was succesful and the Americans made a lame copy off it. You are the first person I ever see expressing the American one is better. Anyway if you want good J-horor go for, Ôdishon (Audition), Kaidan: Ikiteiru Koheiji (The Living Koheiji), Tetsuo (The Iron Man) etc but I have a feeling you dont like movies with subtitles
I'm really excited about this. I don't think this game will be as text-heavy as Fatal Frame IV, so I'll definitely consider importing if it doesn't come to the US, which wouldn't surprise me in the least bit at this point.
Nothing wrong with subtitles (Mongol was kickass) but do any of these movies fall into the usual goofy ass Japanese cliches? ex: giant robots, superpowers, psychics, magic, effeminate weirdos, laughably sexist... Actually I think the big problem is I don't like Japan period.
But anyways the game, looks entertaining. I'll have to keep an eye out for it.

Though same on Dtoid for getting my hopes up.

Just wanted to second your point, the originals of your mentioned films are BRILLIANT far better than the glossy yank remakes.
I've got Odishon / The Audition on DVD, one of the best horror's I've ever seen!
Anyone likes Japanese horror you have got to check it out!
