I am still torn on this one. While my love for generic action games is well known (I don't care for faux-innovation, just give me a sword and some monsters), there's something about the brawler style action game I truly miss, and wish Golden Axe: Beast Rider would have brought back. Teaming up with a pal and smashing a bunch of cheap enemies before a little arrow says you can move on fills me with such frustrated joy.
This particular trailer looks to be trying just a mite too hard to appear epic, but it's never going to be Willow. Now Willow was one class film. A trailer can only provide so much, however. If the action is good enough, I won't care much whether or not it isn't a true brawler or how close to being as good as Willow the story is. I really want to watch Willow.

Meet the rest of the team
Despite the fact I wish a new Golden Axe game would end up being more traditional hack 'n slash and less beast riding, I can't say I'm not excited to play a game where the animal I'm riding CAN RIP A MAN IN TWO. I mean... come on, last beast I rode that could do that dumped me.
If I could play this with a friend I could look past the generic brawler stuff, but all I see is a SEVERE lack of imagination that didn't even try and do a unique brawler... they had to take the idea from a 90's sidescrolling three-player beat em up.
I'm just not interested in this game it's a single player game based on a multiplayer game. It just makes no sense to me at all. Unless she becomes topless or totally nude in the game I am not fucking interested.
Maybe Im in the minority, but I think this game is gonna be wicked fun!! I agree that it sucks that its single-player, but I remember reading somewhere that the developers do plan to integrate multi-player into the sequel. So in order to ensure that there IS a sequel, we need to make sure the sales figures for this game are high....so get out there and BUY it!!!
Wait, no co-op? Is this true? Only one playable character? No super-buff barbarian or endlessly superior dwarf? THERE ISN'T EVEN ANY MAGIC SPELLS CAST IN THAT TRAILER. I realize that this is the premier trailer and it's still being developed and not much was revealed but I'm concerned.
Single player only is a horrible idea. Should have titled this something else, and do a proper Golden Axe separately (the supposed "sequel," such bullshit).
They would have been better off making slapping a coat of paint on the old gameplay. At least there would have been multi-player and the badass dwarf.

Seriously, come on. I'm gonna go watch Willow.
Someone at Sega just read your post and cackled maniacally.
How much is Sega paying you to push this game?

But you really can't expect quality from a developer whose last game was Iron Man.
