If you have to die, you might as well perish in an awesomely gruesome manor.

This design mantra has become increasingly popular over the years, because let's face it -- many of us enjoy a good fleshy explosion every now and again.

Similar to the Resident Evil 4 fatality video, the montage above contains the numerous death sequences of Dead Space.

There are obviously massive spoilers involved, so if you don't want to see the game's bosses tear apart Isaac Clarke or witness the last RIG upgrade, it's best you stay far away.

[Thanks, Joe]

I was waiting for something like this to come!

I've only seen about 5 death sequences in the game from playing and they were damn sweet! Now I just have to wait till I get home to watch this!!!

I'm with Hawkeye...I've never had that one happen to me...but damn if that wasn't a bit freaky. Head transplant...

great game, I love it so far.

I have to say I'm disappointed. I expected more disembowelment. But all I got was him flying to pieces a lot. The coolest one was where the tiny thing chopped off his head and then took over his body.

I was hoping to see more stuff tear open his chest cavity while he's still alive and eating his organs first, but I got lots of decapitation...

Still looks like cool game though.

*to Syn*...that's very morbid...but I can agree with that 2nd. paragraph, that would be pretty cool.

They seem very Quake 1 Gibb-ish. Most deaths end with a torso and limbs separated, or decapitation, with the odd bit of blood. They are interesting, but don't look right, and most seem more amusing than horrific.

I totally want to see all of these, but I also want to experience it firsthand on my HDTV, rather than in shotgun fashion in a YouTube. I'm conflicted!

@RoninZero: MUA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Thank you. But seriously, wouldn't that be far more gruesome than just watching him fly to pieces a bunch of times? eh? eh?

I would've turned the game off the moment that long thing started dragging me towards it. I've never been able to play scary games. (I did, surprisingly, beat Silent Hill 2,3, and 4 however.)

I turned Bioshock off after I walked across the lighting fixture in that theater where teh lil girl was harvesting that guy's stuffs near the beginning of the game.

My one disappointment with this game was the inability to cut enemies in half. Thy can do it to me, but I can only take shots at their limbs. What up with that EA Redwood?

I agree with RitualNet. It's like when the guy gets to 0 health he just falls apart into neat detachable pieces.

The 3rd and 4th leg grab were pretty cool too. Gotta love the potential of survival, quickly followed by being devoured.

Honestly, the tiny youtube video doesn't do the game justice. My favorite death is when the big regenerating boss dude cuts off your leg, impales you and lets you twitch there a minute before hacking off your head. Awesome.

That being said, is that the military suit? I just finished the first playthrough and haven't had the stones to boot it back up.

The Deaths in Dead Space are pretty gruesome, and some are quite annoying. Like the one where Isaac jumps on the meteor and gets cut in half by the blades, that part was fucking stupid, took me a while to figure it out.

Still the game is very worthwhile.

Better deaths than in most games, but unless there's more creative stuff hidden in there somewhere, RE4 is still the champion.

Nice. I'm dissapointed with the lack of torso impalement. I never tought i would write something like that, but still. I saw only one at the 6 minute mark. Most stuff is the body failing to stick together.
I liked the last one, big monster that rips his arms then eats half. Very..jurasik park.

Maybe I'll wait a while til I watch this video....

The by far best one was the head taking over Isaac's body.
@Syn
That sounds like a bloody brilliant idea for a death scene I would love to see that in a game.
@vexed alex
You can't be to specific with that.
Also speaking as someone who is fucking insane that idea sounds awesome.

At the second electrocution scene, I said to myself, "it would be cool if there was a death animation where you'll get electrocuted then explode". I got what I wished for a few seconds later.

The whole video looks like God of War, only seen from the enemies' perspective.

@Clockwork-Zombie & vexed alex: Those are the nicest things anyone has ever said to me here...*sniff*

I'm not sure how long he could live without his suit on, but it would be cool to see one of the monsters tear his suit off and then peel him like a banana. Revealing all the muscle tissue, and the screams! (I fell asleep watching Saw 4 last night)

Or go with the dismemberment thing, except have them consume limbs in front of him while he screams.

I was told there was already a death where something pinned him to the wall, stuck some pincers in him and pulled him apart while shoveling meat into it's mouth, but I didn't see it and that would be AWESOME!
