Fat Princess getting a new map, demo, and patch soon photo

Fat Princess. Now there's a name I haven't heard in a while. Are you folks still playing it these days?

Titan Studios over on the PlayStation.Blog wants to remind us that it will soon be time to boot the game up again. Next Thursday, Fat Princess will be getting a free new map called New Pork (shown above), patch 1.03, and a playable demo.

The extensive patch covers a number of things, from tighter character balance to scoring tweaks to a confetti effect when blood is turned off. Someone has finally one-upped Mortal Kombat SNES. By all accounts, it should be a whole new experience by the time Thursday rolls around.

Me? I'm still holding out for Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake on PSP.

I bought it when I first got my PS3(Slim) and I was sadly disappointed. I thought it was going to be a delicious TF2-like adventure. I was wrong. I don't play it anymore. $15 down the drain. :[

I played this game for about 3 or 4 days after I bought it. Haven't played it since. Glad to know I'll have a reason to check it out again.

Game's got a lot of rough edges even after the first patch. I definitely enjoy the concept but AI is shit and gameplay needs a lot of tinkering. Still, I'm very glad to see they didn't just release it and forget about it.

Hope the patch fixes problems such as the princess disappearing, etc... and it's great that the new map is free. If they make it a trend of having a small free addon every now and then, the game can continue growing and such.

Of course I still play this, one of my most played PS3 games. That new map looks delicious, much like food free is the best.

I don't know if I should just chalk it up to a couple bad online experiences but I really wish I could transfer this over to my Xbox.

I never really had any problems and I cant say that just having on the 360 equals a better experience. With that I would disagree.

I've been waiting for them to clear the leaderboards which they said they were gonna do like a week after release and have yet to do. Why would you want to play this long when all your stats would be wiped? Dick move.

Fortunately they'll be wiped shortly after 1.03 and I can resume then. Looking forward to it.

Yeah I'm with a bunch of you guys, I absolutely regret the fifteen dollars on this game. It's a shallow and repetitive. I'll probably try it out again after the patch, but it will probably just sit on my hard drive like usual. Takin' up space.

It was fun for about 5 days.

After that, I stopped playing.

Yet somehow, someway, I swear I must have logged about 95-125 hours into Castle Crashers.

Not surprising. Castle Crashers is the better of the two. If you're into comparing apples to oranges.

I was saddened this game was removed from FNF because that week was the week I discovered how to limit the computers so you can play with mostly humans. Was gonna bring it up for FNF since the big complaint was the strategy element being removed by dumb A.I. but by then nobody wanted to play it for FNF anymore. The damage has been done sadly. Now such a good game just sits on my HD not being played because nobody I know is playing it and just playing with random players gets boring because most of them don't use a mic. In any case, I think I'll boot up the game to give the new map a try.

Its definitely a game that is way more fun when you play with people you know. Playing random, not so much.

Don't do it Jim! So good! I play it whenever there are a few extra minutes in my life.

eh... it seemed that there were usually more AI characters in the game than real people and there was no ability to adjust the number of AI (as you can do in KZ or UT3). This was sort of a turn off. You can literally park your character's butt somewhere, go have a sandwich, and it didn't seem to make much difference to the game.

When I play a game I like to play with PEOPLE. They need the ability to turn down the number of AI or adjust them dynamically to the number of people playing - so that strategies can actually be played out without interference from the annoying AI. I recently deleted it from my PS3. :(

what turned me off is the lock-on, I mean how hard or skill based is the game when you can lock-on. I get it that its more kind of dumb fun, run-n-shoot + ctf but ....mhhhhh. Just didn't do it.

I can see your point, but it's gonna be hard playing priest, dark priest, archer, worker, mage, pratically all other classes except of course, warrior and villager. (you know, the class you are before you take a hat)

This is where i like live better than PSN. You can demo every arcade game before you buy it. It is dumb to not be able to try something out like this.

This is why I don't buy into hype. Before it came out, everyone was head-over-heels about the game. "When's it coming out? Best game ever? Who do I have to kil to play it?"
But if this article's comments are indicative of the game, it looks like I saved myself $15 rather smartly.
That is, until I wasted it on PS3 Lumines.
