Taking beloved videogame franchises from the late 90's and early 2000's and putting new titles on mobile platforms seems to be all the rage right now. Activision's doing it with Tony Hawk, and now Sega's taking its shot with Crazy Taxi.

Yes, Crazy Taxi: City Rush is in development by Kenji Kanno, creator of the original, and will be free to download on iOS and Android devices. According to Sega, it's already had a soft launch in some regions, and will be available everywhere by the end of the year.

For those of you that can get excited about this -- I envy you, really. For the rest of you -- most of you -- just go back to longingly staring at your Dreamcast.
