Community outcry has its advantages. A Far Cry 2 community developer recently revealed and attributed an upcoming “hardcore mode” update to forum dwellers that feel as if Ubisoft’s shooter lacks realism in the multiplayer department. The update will include a new hardcore mode, stronger guns, and an ability to tweak respawn time.
Below is a snippet (the rest is after the break) of the rest of the enhancements: - All weapons have been rebalanced on normal mode, and on hardcore mode.
- A new search option will be available in multiplayer to allow you to find games that are playing on hardcore mode.
- Enemy names will disappear after the spawning invincibility period is over (A shield is displayed above a player’s head for a few second to show that he is invincible).
It’s unclear if this is downloadable content or not, but hardcore mode -- and its various balance tweaks -- will make its way to all platforms with Ubisoft’s “next round of patches.” [via VG247] "The addition of a 'hardcore' setting, available in every game mode, will have many consequences," according to the community developer. Here's a list of those: - A new damage model will be applied with increased damage for all weapons.
- All weapons have been rebalanced on normal mode, and on hardcore mode.
- Enemy names will disappear after the spawning invincibility period is over (A shield is displayed above a player’s head for a few second to show that he is invincible).
- A new option will allow you to tweak spawning time (but not spawning rate).
- A new search option will be available in multiplayer to allow you to find games that are playing on hardcore mode.

It's another Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon live-action parody, and it's just as amazing and cheesy as the other one. Everything about this is wonderful. "I'm just spinning my web, baby."
