Following the Far Cry 3 presentation and demo at the Ubisoft booth at gamescom, I got to interview narrative director Jason VandenBerghe, who is without a shadow of a doubt a most amazing man.
We don't only talk about the depth of storytelling, the expansion of exploration and the importance of gamers being able to choose their own paths and methods, which is integral to Far Cry's gameplay. But I even manage to convince Jason to let me wear his Stetson. I am so cool.

I'm just hoping you have broader line of sight than you did in Far Cry 2... Worst peripheral vision of all time? I'd say so. And as an FPS, hopefully they fix their shooting mechanics
He'd better need that cane. Not a fan of accessories that handicapped folks actually need. Of course, that said, Far Cry 3 looks pretty effing awesome. I was totally bored with the second one after being pretty hyped for it so I need to temper my excitement for this one and be super surprised and happy when it releases. Sounds like they realize that scale != fun.

Yes, that is a cane. Dude's a pimp cowboy. Nicest guy too. Easily my favourite interview we did, and we got to do it twice.
