Far Cry 2's achievements encourage you to make friends photo

Seeing as how Far Cry 2 tells the story of one man trying to uncover the location of a ruthless arms dealer in strife-filled Africa, it would be easy to imagine the game as a lone-guerrilla sort of experience. That’s clearly not the case, though, if the recently revealed achievements are anything to go by.

I count seven achievements that require you to assist, or be assisted by, your buddies. Clearly Ubisoft didn’t want players to traipse across the savanna experiencing human interactions that only involve bullets and big explosions. Nope, if you want those 140 achievement points you’ll need to make friends, and then comfort them as they die to get “Good night sweet prince.”

All 48 achievements can be found, as always, after the jump.

[Thanks, Joe]

I just hope the console version is same as the PC version.

Not just some similar game like the one on the xbox. It was pitiful by comparison to the PC one.

Not a fan of the co-op achievements. I always end up joining up with someone with the sole intention of grabbing those and never return to co-op. Multiplayer is one thing but most of the time I game as a repose from others and just bathe in the relaxation of impersonal AI. I know there are those who's entire gaming enjoyment comes from muti and co-op and I respect that, I just swing more towards the core-story single player stuff.
That said... there's not enough co-op based cheives to really bitch up a storm. Well rounded enough.

The thing that annoyed me was that on the created map in the demo it was twice over the limit.

Ah well most of these look fun apart from "500 revives" that might take a while. One of the top 3 games out this Christmas anyway.

rjc5056: I think the achievements might be referring to your AI buddies that you make during the game. But I could be wrong about that.

Heretic: Same here... Not to mention Fallout 3 and Fable 2 come out around the same time...

Thanks guys. That helped relieve some trepedation about the game. Might have to give it a spin in the old disk drive after all.

Buddies are fine... I'd rather let them die though.
