The collective BioWare brain is an information sponge. As explained by Greg Zeschuk in a recent interview with Gamasutra, the studio learns something new with each release. That knowledge isn’t just collected from critics, retailers or some in-house thing. It comes from fans, too. According to the BioWare head honcho, Mass Effect fan feedback is making Mass Effect 2 a better game.
Now don’t you feel special?
“I would say we always learn,” Zeschuk said. “We always make our games in a way where we're sure there's always something to learn from. Even with some of the peripheral releases, we try to take back information. That's one thing about our culture that's very active. Everything we do is a learning experience.”
“I think you’ll see,” he continued, “that Mass Effect 2 is a gigantic culmination of learnings from Mass Effect. Mass Effect was a great game, but Mass Effect 2 is a much, much better game. All the things we heard the fans say, all the things we felt when we released -- all these things, we improved.”
On the subject of fan feedback, we have a small-ish list of desires for the ME 2 that we believe will not only set it apart from the original, but also make it a better game. The list is as follows: (1) dragons, (2) more toads with attitude, (3) small helicopters, (4) an opportunity to let Kaidan die again, and finally, (5) large helicopters.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I never passed up the chance to let that whiny psychic bite it.
Seriously, every building I went in was the same as the last.
Safety first kids.
Also, portable nukes(actually, I think this one has been confirmed)
26) elevators at warp speed
I need some variety once in a while.
If that's not Earth chauvinism, I don't know what is. If we EVER encounter extraterrestrial life (which is unlikely, given our nuclear predicament) they would almost undoubtedly be a race of highly developed sentient machines. I was really impressed with that talking ship in the first Mass Effect for this reason.
But all the other aliens just look like humans in Halloween costumes. They evolved in a completely different environment with billions of years to progress in science. Why the fuck are they still mortal?
If Bioware is listening...Wrex...he comes back and it's the best day ever.
Dude what? I think Mass Effect tries to be scientifically fictional not plausible.
30) A Mako that hovers and doesn't get stuck
Kaiden was like talking to a cardboard cut-out, and he wasn't that useful either.
The human AI partners in Mass Effect sucked, to be honest.
I never really talked to Kaiden but after a few conversations with Ashley, that woman needed to go. Racist and religious, no thank you.
Expecting intelligent life is just intellectual chauvinism.
I disagree. I think it's unlikely that we'll stumble upon extraterrestrial life on our own. given how rare it appears to be in our solar system. We'd almost undoubtedly have to be contacted (npi).
But anyways I hope they don't really try and bring a bigger market to this game, or it'll be a worse travesty than Oblivion -_-
Just replay the game and max out your Charm, then you can convince him to help ya.
