Launching a big-named franchise at retail without a collector's or special edition is unheard of these days. So it's no surprise that GameStop is currently listing a Collector's Edition for Midway's upcoming Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe.
Problem is, there are no details given. We've got you covered! While Midway has yet to officially announced the collector's set, here's what our sources tell us will make it so "collectible":
- It comes in a velvet box!
- A giclée print, presumably of Mortal Kombat and DC characters!
- A 16-page comic book, presumably featuring Mortal Kombat characters fighting DC characters!
- A t-shirt presumably ... OK, you get the idea.
- A "making of" Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe DVD
So how's that for fancy? GameStop is currently listing the set for $69.99 -- that means it'll cost you another ten bones for a velvet box, a picture, a comic book (which will not ever make its way online), a t-shirt that'll be four sizes too big (or too small), and a making of DVD (which will also never make its way to YouTube).
Worth it? Your call. We'll withhold judgment until we get some more details and pictures. We like pictures.

Also yeah that box set is the antideal. I pay seventy bucks and I still get a Mortal Kombat game.
I'm not really looking forward to this game.
