Fanboys petition to boycott Capcom over DMC4 going multi-platform (Update) photo

Heartbroken and no doubt frightened by the loss of yet another exclusive PS3 title, some Sony fanboys have taken it upon themselves to start a petition asking people to boycott Capcom to express their outrage. Let's see what they have to say:

We (The people that have signed this petition) feel very left out in your decision to make Devil May Cry 4 a Multi-Platform title, and hereby agree to boycott your sale of Capcom affiliated games. This is due to your decision to turn your back on your most faithful gaming company. For years we have enjoyed games, we have reaped the benefits of your committment to Sony. We find it absolutely demoralizing for not only the gamers, but also Sony itself. We want you to know that will not, and should not stand for your actions, and therefore withold our option of buying your product.

Bad grammar aside, isn't it kind of silly to get so upset about losing exclusivity of a game that you'd boycott the very game that you apparently care so much about? It's not as if they wouldn't still get to play it. Get to the choppa!

[Update: Capcom's Christian Svensson has issued an official response to angry fans, stating:

"We are certainly moved that people are so passionate about our products that they would go to such extremes, at the same time we feel that allowing more people access to our content pleases far more people than it displeases (after all, we're not denying DMC4 to anyone that was already going to get it). It really is the best decision for the company and for consumers."

Put away your pitchforks, kids. Capcom still loves you.]

"Yeah! I agree! Yeah! I'm not going to buy DMC4 either! Yeah! Wait? Why are we not buying it? What? No. I'm not buying it because since the first one it progressively went to shit. Oh. You guys are a bunch of pussies."

This is officially the funniest thing I've read all fucking day. These douche bags give "fanboys" a bad name. I dub these asshats as "fanbabies". You heard it here first folks, a new term for the whiniest of fanboys. They will forever more be known as fanbabies. So let it be written. So let it be done!

There just making sure they didn't waste 600 bucks on a machine with no exclusives.

This is completely idiotic. How can a gamer benefit from exclusives? Hear this, fanboy: for every great exclusive game you get on your console, there's another great game you miss because another greedy corporation strongarmed a publisher into an exclusive release. How stupid is that? Blah. Multiplatform should be compulsory - but forbidden for Disney. ;)

Shit is funny as hell (I had a short attention-grabbing laughter burst here at Starfucks). Although I admit some loyalty to Nintendo, the majority of Big N fanboys aren't this desperate (as mentioned before with the case of RE4). I am not justifying any fanboyism, just an analysis.

Bring on more multi-platform next-gen titles. We can really see a one-on-one comparison between 360 and PS3 (and the Wii in occasional instances).

HOW DARE YOU BOYCOTT MEGA MAN'S GRANDPA CAPCOM?!! (Blazing blasters at full force...) PEW PEW PEW TO YOU PS-TRIZZLE TROLLS?!!?!! (Watch these fuckers boycott Sony next.)

lol, internet petitions... those always work out so well. Sounds like someone needs to go back to their hugbox.

I don't see the stigma of a game going cross-platform. It's not like they're going to lose the ability to play the game on their favorite console.

Wait, they are capcom fanboys and they are pissed at capcom for doing something to get more people to play it? The are fuckin' idiots! I love capcom and their games and frankly, I don't give a shit about this! I mean sure, I'd be pissed if capcom made say, Re5 Ps3 exclusive( of course not to the point where I would sign a dumbass petition), but they are actually complaining about a multiplatform game! These guys need a friggin' life!

These kids just need to realize that exclusivity is dead in this next-generation, save for first party titles. Pouting over DMC4 via an internet petition is an exercise in futility. Instead, try something semi-useful such as raising a shitstorm to get a PS3 version of Dead Rising.

Unfortunately, crap like this propagates a stigma that all PS3 owners are regretful early adopters, clinging to any indication that their purchase was not in vain. But in reality, this is not the case. Well, at least for Summa and I.

Exclusivity is bad for competitiveness and thus is bad for the market.
Personally, even as a predominantly PC gamer, I'd like to see every title to come to each platform that is able to support it.

I would so do Dante, anytime. I'm usually very strict about stuff like this but for him and Johnny Depp I make an exception.

I love the sheer idiocy of this "petition".

You see, if they really boycott Capcom by not purchasing any of their products the only one with a broken heart (and pockets) will be Sony (and whomever else). For there is still 360 and Wii to fulfill the needs in graphic power and unique gameplay.

So? Petitions are nothing new, or newsworthy. Yeah, we all know that people can be fanboys, but I'm sure that I could find a few Nintendo/MS fanboy whatevers if I took the 3 minutes to look for em.
