This week, we'll be taking a look at a review for Dragon Age. While there's a little bit of complaining about scores, it's really more about the bickering that happens between 360 and PS3 owners. IGN rated the two console versions the same, but Gamespot gave the PS3 version 0.5 more points than the 360 version!

Right from the start, someone decides Dragon Age should be directly compared to Demon's Souls.

No dude, you are not alone on that one. I preordered the Deluxe edition of Demons souls, and damn that game is awesome. This dragon age game does not come anywhere near Demons souls quality. And yes, I can compare, as they are both rpgs. If you are on the fence, get Demons souls. Its a much better game

Yes, you are the only one. Demon's Souls is garbage, a terrible excuse for a game, let alone an RPG. And yes, I do own a PS3 and I did play the game and hated every second of it, not because of the challenge, but because of the terribly bland world, boring combat, and seriously lackluster story/characters. Made me frown upon my PS3 once again, wondering why I wasted my money on the trash. Thankfully I have a 360 as well and can experience many wonderful games on it, such as DA:O which apparently runs much better on the 360 than the PS3.
Then, we get a brief interlude while people squabble about scores. One guy thinks the score is way too low...
This score is really low compared to the other ones, the average would be like a 9.2 9.3 if they hadn't put in a score of 8.4 and 8.7
While another thinks that the game got an undeserving high score just because it's from Bioware.
Let's call it the BIOWARE BONUS, from review score of this game should be 8.0 or at most 8.5, but seeing as it's BIOWARE we're talking about, they are not evaluated in the same way as other minor developers are.
And then we get to the good stuff. People arguing over the two console versions based on IGN's review vs. Gamespot's review, and in response to the comment about Demon's Souls above. None of the people commenting have PLAYED either version, but that doesn't really matter.
it runs a lITTLE better but the PS3 version looks better, it has been getting higher reviews than the 360 version and reviewers are saying if you have a choice between consoles the PS3 is the way to go.
Apparently the way to stop "fanboy nonsense" is to throw out some of your own, like pointing out a game is "crap" because of a .5 score difference from one site.

This isn't convincing enough, so people start bringing in the actual scores to throw around.
just got the ps3 version -the superior one (9 from GS vs 8.5 for the x360 version ).x360 version takes ages to load and looks total crap vs PS3 version.if u are getting the console version then ps3 has the better version

This game will be great, maybe better than ME2. I would have to say it will surpass Demon's Souls too. I heard someone bitch that the 360 gamer will say that just to discredit a PS3 exclusive. Funny since Resistance was even compared to Gears after its launch and now nobody wants the 3rd Resistance now, poll shows 1/3 people want it within the 1st year of its release, that's very low.

Same here, but then again I don't really have a PC up to par with today's games, so I guess I would have ended up with the laggy PS3 port anyway. Still very playable and fun as hell, though.

Wouldn't that make it more of a challenge on the consoles? I.e., the (relatively) inferior console controls frustrate the gameplay, making harder. (This isn't to say, the console version is harder, thus better. Rather, it probably suffers from being unnecessarily more cumbersome and difficult.)

Honestly, I don't care that people are fanboys.. every single one of us are fanboys of something (for instance, I use nothing but head & shoulders shampoo.. I'm a H&S fanboy).. it's just when people get wild about it that I start laughing at them.. but this one seemed fairly tame (relative to past Fanboy Fridays)
