Goldeneye 64 is easily in my top five best Nintendo 64 games ever made. I devoted many hours of my life to this fantastic game. Granted, the game is crap compared to today's standards, but it's still a gem in my eyes.
It's been years since I last played this game, but thanks to this fan video, I'm now on the hunt for the Nintendo 64 again. This recreation of the Facility level (best level in the game!) is old, but it's pretty fun to watch so shut your whore mouth with the old comments.
It's funny how I thought Goldeneye was the best game ever made back in 1995 1997. The A.I. was horrible, the aiming system was sh*t and chairs exploded like a bomb if you shot them up.
The best part of this fan video is when "Bond" aims at a bad guy and a reticle on a wire pops up. Classic.

Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Making the Klobb totally suck is excellent attention to detail right there.
Bonus points for bringing me back to '97. Lovely nostalgia...
It's a shame the game didn't hold up over time. Not many games on that platform did, actually.
But if you go in expecting it to be a bit of a dated design that's still fun it's great and a whole lot more fun than Halo. In fact, if they put out a version with slightly polished up graphics on 360 with new maps (and a map editor of some sort) it'd be more incentive to sell out and help microsoft expand their monopoly of garbage products into the living room than anything they've yet put out on xbox.
I think I read somewhere about so and so trying to get Rare to help to rerelease GoldenEye at some point. Don't quote me on that. Awhile back I would have figured it would have just found a seat in the Wii's oldies rereleases, but since Nuts and Bolts and the original Banjo-Kazooie game were both finding their way to the 360, it would now almost seem necessary for GoldenEye to be out on the XBLA at some point. Curious.
The video though- made me smile and laugh the whole way through. Ah, nostalgia. The good old days of elementary-through-junior-high-school, sitting around with friends, drinking Surge and Mountain Dew, playing multiplayer (dare I say it, splitscreen?!!? Unheard of, I tell you!!!) until the wee wee weeeeiner hours of the morning until we passed out. And Perfect Dark can go fuck itself. Even if I did like it a lot. Perfect Dark lagged out the ass, and was trying to be too complicated. Booo!
Maybe I could make a CoD map of it... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm That is unless someone else did, already.
Yeah, this is excellent in an 'amateur-effort' kinda way.
Also, CTZ, just play Timesplitters. It's much better.
Time paradocksz
I never really liked Goldeneye, because I SUCKED at FPSs
Goldneye was such a great game!
I will never, eeeever forget the memories it gave me!
Love it!
Even to this day it's still one helluva game! far ahead of its time!
Thank you, Rare!
That video was an awesome memory jolt!
Hamza, if you are looking to recreate or perhaps reconnect with the good old Goldeneye days and you have a steam account, you could always get the Goldeneye Source Mod:
http://goldeneyesource.net/
It is creepily similar to the original Goldeneye (but with the benefit of keyboard + mouse controls!)
