Japanese gaming publication Famitsu's out of 40 gaming reviews have become sort of a benchmark over there, so we like to keep our eye out on what they say for our favorite games.
I don't do math, but it looks like we're on the same page as Famitsu when it comes to Valve's zombie-fied shooter, Left 4 Dead. The game scored 35/40 in their latest issue, taking the top spot. One of the four editors even gave it a perfect score. It's good to see that Famitsu continues to be open to foreign, teamwork-centric games. Plus, you'd look silly if you said you didn't like Left 4 Dead.
Another score of interest is Famitsu's mark of 31/40 for Fragile. We haven't read the review yet, but from what we experienced in our play time in Tokyo, we expected a bit more. The score comes from three 8s and a 7, so it seems to be a good but not great kind of review. Despite the score, we're still excited about the game.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
As for L4D, you need friends to really have fun with it. Curse my reclusive ways! *sniff*
30/40 to 35/40 sounds about right to me.
Inb4 nintendodsgot40/40.
Slayer is the most played mode in Halo 3, with Team Oddball the least played. Pretty much says what the majority of the X360's userbase mindset is.
I found the random spawn not so random and if you played your part right......You pretty much could figure out how Valve laid things out as far as "GOTCHA!"'s go.
That being said, if someone was looking for a game to play with friends, I would still recommend it as the support for online and split screen is pretty awesome.
I play it on 360 with 3 of my roommates and it is loads of fun. It and Rock Band 2 cycle as our "no one has an exam or work to do" all 4 players game.
I have L4D on the 360 and love it to bits. I am getting it on PC later this year though just to have more people to play with.
Seriously, it's a great game. It's not short at all ... hello, play on advanced or expert ... and the replay value has no limit. It's the most fun I've had playing games in recent memory.
@Cotton McKnight: This article is about a 360 game, so here you are shitting all over it. Like usual.
Bump it up to expert, it will take you around 4-5 hours to beat a single campaign. And it's hella fun.
Also, whoever (JiR INC) plays this on offline has no say on the quality of the game.
::sigh::
a)what games they like
b)what games they don't like
c)what MODES they enjoy in multiplayer (for god's sake)
d)what system they prefer or play most often
is EXTREMELY intelligent.
So, you know...keep doing that.
That's the thing, I don't mind debates. But when people are saying, "if you don't like this, you're an idiot", or "people like to play deathmatch, that shows you what they're like right there", that is not even close to making a real point.
