Fallout 3 'update' coming to PS3 next week photo

Bethesda has been hard at work on the DLC content for Fallout 3 on the PS3, but so far owners of the black monolith have no content to download at all and they were originally promised it in late June. That is 12 days ago at least! Do you know how long that is in internet time? It's practically a decade. So where is "Operation: Anchorage," the first of the DLC to be released, and when will we be seeing the rest of the content that is already on the 360 and is going to be released in the same order as that system? We still have no clue.

However, we do have a promise of an "update" next week. Speaking to G4 via email Bethesda's marketing VP said, "[We'll] have [an] update for folks on that next week." So they're either going to suprise the world by releasing the content next week and didn't want to spoil the fun or they're going to tell us how it really is hard to get the DLC to work right on the PS3 and a bit more time is needed. Either way it means that PS3 owners who want to experience "Operation: Anchorage," "The Pitt," and "Broken Steel" will have to wait even longer.

Wow that sucks. I died inside a little when I bought a Xbox360 but at least I've been able to play through all the DLC for Fallout

Well, update or not, the Game of the Year Edition will have the content on the disc itself, so I'm just waiting for that.

Yeah... I read it and heard it from a Gamestop guy that the Game of the Year Edition will be coming out in October. I haven't played Fallout 3 for my 360 yet and I don't plan on spending 100+ bucks on the game and all this crap. Just going to wait for that GOTY version in October that comes packed with all the DLC.

I was just about to get back to my game after a months long absence, but I can hold out a few days to see what this "update" will be. Really, the only thing holding me back from finishing the game is the stupid level cap.

There's really no point in this DLC coming out now. The GOTY edition is scheduled for October and will be only $10 more than just the DLC. If you haven't picked up Fallout 3 yet just wait a few months.

Even if you already have it you're probably better off getting the GOTY rather than buying the DLC, even if you don't flip the the original. That way you've got all the content right there on the disc. I just hope I remember where I am in October because I'm almost to the end of the game now and last time I put it down I had to start over because 8 months later I couldn't even remember how to play the damn thing.

I'm still bitter that I dropped £50 on the PS3 version before I knew DLC was an exclusive...

I'll probably only buy Operation Anchorage for the level cap. The rest can be spent when I'm more comfortable giving my cash to fund this game..

the cap is only in 'broken steel' futon eater

I'm pretty sure the level cap is part of Broken Steel, not Operation Anchorage.
