Fallout 3 Game of the Year edition, plus PS3 DLC update photo

Bethesda has just sent us the boxart and details on the Fallout 3 Game of the Year edition, set to release on October 13th for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. In it, you'll find that all five of the DLC packs released up to this point are included:

  • Operation Anchorage
  • The Pitt
  • Broken Steel
  • Point Lookout
  • Mothership Zeta

The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions will sell for $59.99, while the Games for Windows version will go for $49.99.

In related news, an update for the PS3 version of Fallout 3 is coming. It fixes some issues, optimizes the game, and adds Trophy support for DLC. Bethesda says that Broken Steel will be available next Thursday, September 24th. That will be followed by the release of of both Operation: Anchorage and The Pitt on October 1st, and the Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta combo on October 8th.

If you haven't jumped into Fallout 3 yet, this is the perfect chance.

The "T" is silent; he was just visually demonstrating this.

Are the addon packs on a disc, or do we just get codes to download them? Further, are there any other extras, like documentaries or whatever?

Yay, PS3 owners! I'm glad they finally get to experience all the excellent DLC for Fallout. Well...all excellent except Anchorage and Zeta. At least in Anchorage you got unbreakable uber power armor.

And now I don't have time to play it now that demon souls, Ninja gaiden 2, uncharted 2, and the other 300 games from now to next summer are here.

I need to hit lotto, not cause I need the money but because there aren't enough hour in a day to do all this, and 178 million would pretty much fix that problem as I would have rent and food money till the end of my days and wouldn't have to work.

I'm afraid to lose my life in Fallout 3, I'll keep away from it a little longer, at least until Holidays.

I need this so badly. I hate country lockout on games. Why punish me because I bought an Xbox360 in a different part of the world from which I currently live. I think I will buy the new PS3 slim and just not worry about it anymore....

I've been waiting for this, I don't want to have to buy all the DLC again on PC for my not pirated copy, so the GFW version is a must buy.

Damn, I'm about to hit the level cap and was going to buy some DLC, but if this is the case, it almost seems cheaper to trade in my copy and buy the GOTY edition. But my question is will my save file work on the new GOTY edition? Cause I'm not willing to lose all these hours...

@Polo Guy, The save should work as it did with Oblivion GOTY.

Wait..what? It's cheaper to buy this than the DLC itself? I'll probably sell my copy of Fallout 3 and pick this up :)

Wow Bethesda thanks for dicking over somebody that decided to buy all of your DLC on XBL to get the most out of Fallout 3.

Hows about you throw some of those MS points back my way, for loyally beating the shit out of all aspects your game.

INDEED! HOW DARE THEY PULL OFF SUCH A TOTALLY LOGICAL AND PREDICTABLE MOVE, WHICH THEY ACTUALLY HAD ANNOUNCED QUITE A WHILE AGO, AND WHICH THEY ALSO PULLED OFF WITH OBLIVION BY THE WAY, SO WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU SURPRISED. HOW DARE THEY DO THAT TO YOU, THE ONE CUSTOMER WHOM THEY HAVE REFERRED TO TIME AND TIME AGAIN AS "OUR MOST VALUED CUSTOMER, THAT TORTURED SOUL GUY, SERIOUSLY HE'S GREAT, WE LOVE HIM AND WE SHALL NEVER DICK HIM OUT OF ANYTHING."
HOW DARE THEY, INDEED.

Wow did you not notice the green caps light on your keyboard, predictable maybe logical obviously not when they could clearly charge at least $20 more and it would still be a great deal considering they include a massive amount of extra content.

Sorry we can't have our parent's disposable income at a moment’s notice to buy anything we want.

As for Oblivion they only released the GOTY edition with two of the DLC that was available for the game. And obviously it isn't uncalled for to reward fans that buy games or DLC with some extra points in their account.

Maybe you were too busy trolling comments to scream about but if you didn't notice the summer sale microsoft was doing with some high profile live arcade games. Buy them all and they would add points to your account, if M$ could afford to provide some incentives it is not insane to ask the same of Bethesda.

Anyone know if the DLC will be released separately online for cheaper, like $40 for the full 5?

God this is stupid. There are people who bought your game day one and then you screw them over with a rediculous $50 value they have to miss out on?

SovietMudkipz: I hope this is a joke. I don't know how you expected them to offer content to Day 1 purchasers that they hadn't yet made. Not to mention it's a known fact that people who wait on game purchases will get a better deal than early adopters (be it in the form of price cuts or added content). This isn't some mind-blowing thing no one has done before.

I guess I'm one of the few that actually liked operation anchorage. Linear, yes, but was still a pretty good time. Only dlc I have a problem with is Zeta, and that's because of the near game crashing bugs. Took me over an hour to get past the part after the space walk cause the npc's just ran away, scripting bug. Overall, I think the only real non linear dlc are point lookout (with mostly crappy equipment) and broken steel (with the 30 level cap really makes finding books redundant). That said once you get the Chinese stealth suit (anchorage) and the perforator (the pitt) you can play like your invisible ala morrowind and oblivion. Which basically makes you invincible.

I'm so getting this!Since i heard the announcement of this GOTY edition ,I traded my original Fallout 3 copy with my friend and eagerly awaiting for its release.

I haven't played any of the DLC and my level's at 20,I can play Broken Steel first and play the rest of the DLC later , right? Or would it be too easy for Anchorage and the Pitt levels?

Why is there no story about how terrible the GOTY edition is?

I literally cannot finish the game because of it crashing.
